USA Hockey unveils men's Olympic camp roster
CTVOlympics.ca Posted Tuesday, June 30, 2009 10:24 AM ETYoung guns like Ryan Miller, Patrick Kane and Phil Kessel headline the list of 34 players that USA Hockey has invited to its 2010 Olympic orientation camp this summer.
On Tuesday, USA Hockey released the list of participants for the camp, which will take place Aug. 17-19, at Seven Bridges Ice Arena in Woodridge, Ill, a suburb of Chicago. Here is the roster:
Goaltenders: Ryan Miller, Jonathan Quick, Tim Thomas
Defensemen: Tom Gilbert, Tim Gleason, Ron Hainsey, Erik Johnson, Jack Johnson, Mike Komisarek, Paul Martin, Brooks Orpik, Brian Rafalski, Rob Scuderi, Ryan Suter, Ryan Whitney
Forwards: David Backes, David Booth, Dustin Brown, Dustin Byfuglien, Ryan Callahan, Chris Drury, Scott Gomez, Patrick Kane, Ryan Kesler, Phil Kessel, Jamie Langenbrunner, Ryan Malone, Mike Modano, Kyle Okposo, T.J. Oshie, Zach Parise, Joe Pavelski, Bobby Ryan, Paul Stastny.
USA Hockey previously announced its management team for the 2010 Olympic team, including Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brian Burke as G.M.; David Poile, associate G.M.; Jim Johannson, assistant executive director of hockey operations. Toronto Maple Leafs coach Ron Wilson will act as head coach, and his assistant coaches will be New Jersey Devils coach John Tortorella and New York Islanders coach Scott Gordon.

A little surprised to not see John-Michael Liles there as well.

Stastny should be the 2nd-3rd line center for the team. He’ll be a great fit.
Liles, well, hard to say any of the players on that list aren’t better than him…
yeah, I was a little surprised to, but hard to really bump anyone off that list
Hyphens cause writers more trouble than any other form of punctuation, except perhaps commas.

They must really be scraping the barrel for US Goalies, Miller and Thomas are obviously the top 2 but Quick, I didn’t see that much of the Kings games or look at his stats but is he really the 3rd best US Goalie.
