Ian Laperriere Signs With Philadelphia Flyers

Lappy is officially gone. He's signed a 3 year, $3.5 million deal with Philadelphia ($1.17 million per year).

Best of luck to you, Lappy. Thanks for not signing with the Red Wings.

Well....

Good luck to him. At least we wont have to see him play against us too often.

Dammit

I miss the days when passionate players were valuable. . .

Wait, they play hockey in Idaho?

I can’t believe we couldn’t sign him for that, but I’m thrilled he won’t be with a rival. I can live with him being on the Flyers.

Looks like I’ll be seeing a lot of Lappy in my Penguins fighting coverage.

It weighs 35 pounds - unless you're hoisting it above your head.

Most definitely.

Go Avs! Let's get some goals!

Well...

That sucks! I will miss him.

It really is ALL ABOUT LAPPY!

This sucks

That is why FG got fired, he wasted money that could’ve been going to Lappy but spent it on a bum (Tucker).

Hmm the only thing that makes me sadder then him not being an Av

IS now he only has 1 opportunity a year to kick Phaneuf’s ass.

see ya Lappy

guess asking for 2m was a bit much though, huh?

Well, he went to a team that I like and watch fairly often, so at least I’ll still be able to watch him. Hopefully he can kick Douche Avery’s backside a couple of times this year. Still, for what he signed for, it seems like we should have been able to keep him. It’s a damn shame that it has gotten to the point where we can’t afford heart and soul players.

I’ll say this though- the Flyers are going to be pretty good next year, and they’re going to be tough to play. Seriously- Lappy, Pronger, Emery, Hartnell, Cote, Richards, and the completely insane Danny Carcillo? Wow. I smell a few line-brawls….

as i remember him and avery are best buddies.

I have a feeling their place in the standings is going to decrease. Yeah they got tougher…but they are going to spend a lot of time in the box.

I guess I’ll be the first to say it. Isn’t that what the avs offered him? Maybe a bit more on length.

by An Unmitigated Disaster on Jul 1, 2009 6:36 PM MDT reply actions

Wasn’t that the thing all along though? That he wanted a multi-year contract and the Avs didn’t want to do that?

It really is ALL ABOUT LAPPY!

by gl avfan on Jul 1, 2009 8:09 PM MDT up reply actions

according to dater, it was all about dollar amount. he wanted 2m.

in the end, im sure it was length that mattered, that and the insult of the Avs weak offer.

Ahh..

I see, I thought that I heard it the other way around.

_Look at the bright side, he’s more valuable than Tyler Arnason.

Can Philly PLEASE stop signing my favorites when we’re too boneheaded/penny-pinchin to do so?

pours some out for his Sweedish homie

I just want Drury back... I recognize the Drury->Morris->Statsny chain, and I stick with the statement.
