Colorado Avalanche Signs David Koci
The Avalanche have Czechoslovakian forward David Koci as an unrestricted free agent from the Tampa Bay Lightning. Koci was given a 1-year, $575k deal. Koci is a 6'6" winger who appears to be a pure enforcer - 297 penalty minutes, 2 points and just 18 shots in 64 career NHL games.

Perfect picture
I think that’s after Chara destroyed him. Seems pretty inconsistent, can either win some big fights (Boogard, Colton Orr) or lose some. Hockeyfights says he was well below .500 last year. Anyway, what does it matter? He won’t play much. It’s a helluva way to make a living.
Not a big fan of this signing...
The Avs could have made an offer to Cody for $574,200k, who is not an all around enforcer (but can hold his own), who had 1G 11A in 55 games last season… And they sign this guy for $575k… Not Cool…
agreed
Cody can play (a little) and fight. This guy can only fight. We’ll probably end up liking him though.

anyone else
besides me think the cammalleri signing for 6 mil a yr is way too much for him? im thinking somewhere around 4.5 or 5 for him
Pujols takes out "I" in BIG and "A" in MAC, previously considered to be an unyielding, consonant threat

agreed, if he’d scored 39 every season for the past 3 then totally. they gambled he can keep it up…that pays off a lot /sarcasm

Huh, interesting move. I really wish we had kept McCormick, because he certainly seems more useful from a hockey standpoint than this guy. I can’t imagine much more than 20 some odd games and a bunch of PIM’s. From what I’ve seen from him, he isn’t the greatest fighter, but hopefully he can smack around Phaneuf and Boogaard a little.

Whuh?
So we lose Lappy, McCormick and Guite – three guys who can actually play a little – and we bring in this guy? Okay. Because, I mean, never mind the worst offense in the league or the going on a decade search for a legitimate #1, my concern was with the lack of physical play.

_Comparisons to Worrell are completely unfair. Koci would have a much easier time passing himself off as Andreas Lilja.

Yep
I like him.
The guy formerly known as "Where is Bob Hartley?". Because it's never going to happen. And no one knows where he is.

Right on
Maybe he can have a Cody Mcleod-like offensive year. Gotta live giant enforcers, though.
"Horton is win."

Boogard and Koci
fight like tired russian bears
I just want Drury back... I recognize the Drury->Morris->Statsny chain, and I stick with the statement.
