The Chicago Blackhawks have parted ways with general manager Dale Tallon and replaced him with assistant general manager Stan Bowman.

Bowman is the son of hall of fame coach Scotty Bowman.

Tallon and the Blackhawks had taken heat over the offseason for failing to properly send RFA offers to several players by the deadline.

I wonder if this has as much to do with the way his RFA's were handled this year as it does his wild man spending in these past two off seasons and the Blackhawks' potential inability to be able to re-sign their RFA's (Kane, Keith, Toews, Ladd, Eager, Fraser, Hjalmarsson, Niemi) next off season, with the salary cap expected to fall.
