Wild sign former Lake Erie center Nathan Smith

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Minnesota Wild have signed AHL center Nathan Smith to a one-year deal.

The guy is a former first round pick and a two-way checking type center.  He played for Lake Erie for one season.  When the Avs signed him last summer, I was hoping that he would make more of an impact than he turned out to be.  Seems like he just might be turning into a journey man AHL'er, though.
