Avs sign Brett Skinner and re-sign Philippe Dupuis

I loved watching Skinner at DU but never thought that he would turn into a NHL defenseman like say Matt Carle,

Lake Erie signings more than anything

DENVER (AP) - The Colorado Avalanche have signed defenseman Brett Skinner and forward Philippe Dupuis, who played in eight games for the team the past season.

The Avalanche recalled 24-year-od Dupuis from the Lake Erie Monsters twice last season. The Laval, Quebec, native led Lake Erie in points (46) and assists (29) in 67 games.

Twenty-six-year-old Skinner made his NHL debut during the 2008-09 season, appearing in 11 games for the New York Islanders. The Brandon, Manitoba, native spent most of the season in the American Hockey League, totaling 35 points in 61 combined games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Chicago Wolves.

Skinner played three seasons at the University of Denver, where he was a member of the school's back-to-back national championship teams in 2004 and 2005.

I would also like to say

Thanks for the Memories Joe, your the reason i love the game of hockey, and as others have said before me truely a class act and character guy all around, his announcement is going to be made at 1:00 p.m. MT., acording to avs site, i just watched his top 10 moments on TSN (tsn.ca/nhl) and i would like for Alex Ovechkin not his goals but his celebrations, he played the game the way it was meant to be played

Thanks again Joe
