Hell yes!
Lake Erie plays in Houston right around Spring Break. I should go, since I have nowhere exotic to be.
I thought you knew that algebra was all razzamatazz. A Globetrotter always saves the good algebra for the final minutes.
Abbotsford
Abbotsford isn’t that accessible with public transit for those of us in Vancouver. Sucks. Would be way cheaper than a Canucks-Avs game. $50/ticket minimum for the worst seats. Boo.
Avs and Lake Erie have added an ECHL affiliate.
Charlotte To Serve As Colorado’s ECHL Affiliate In 2009-10
The Charlotte Checkers have entered into a secondary affiliation agreement with the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche and American Hockey League’s Lake Erie Monsters. Charlotte’s primary affiliate will remain the New York Rangers and Hartford Wolfpack of the AHL.
MHH: Like the Avs organization, we’ve now officially lost our minds.

the Avs snub Neil Smith for the 2nd time this summer

Do the Avs still have an affiliation with the Chiefs?

Colorado and Lake Erie last held an ECHL affiliation with the Johnstown Chiefs.
The only mention of the Chiefs in the article…the phrase “last held” make me believe that the answer to your question is no.

yeah, I wish that was a little more clear, but I don’t know that teams would have a need for two ECHL affiliates.

There’s no mention of the Chiefs on the Avs site that I can see. They appear to have been given the Heisman.
That being said, they would be wise to look to establish an affiliation with the Colorado Eagles (CHL) if for nothing other than marketing reasons.
2009-2010 Colorado Avalanche - "Hey Brother, can you spare a Left Winger?"
The CHL’s rules for veteran players are a tad tricky. A couple of teams have/had affiliations, but they seem more tenuous than those with the E. The ECHL has always billed itself as a feeder league for the AHL, while the CHL is marketed more just as a minor league professional hockey organization. Subtle difference, but there just the same.
