Where To Watch the Sakic Ceremony

I'm still seeing some confusion around about Sakic's retirement ceremony. Just to make sure everyone is on the same page...
The Joe Sakic retirement ceremony will be broadcast by Altitude from 6:30 to 8:00 MT (8:30 to 10 ET).
The game itself starts at 8 MT (10 ET) and will only be televised on Versus. I won't re-hash the whole DirecTV / Versus fiasco to date, but suffice to say that if you do not currently have access to Versus you will not be able to watch the Avalanche debuts of Matt Duchene, Ryan O'Reilly, Kyle Quincey and Craig Anderson. However, there are at least 3 sites that I know of that stream games and we will make sure those are mentioned in the comments of live game thread on Thursday (we're going to be running separate live threads for the ceremony and the game).

justin.tv is one
hockeystreams.com is one (they charge, though)

I know at some point last season myp2p.eu had to pull their NHL games because of copyright infringement or some other nonsense. I’m not sure if that issue has been resolved or not…

argh
I still don’t have a solid plan for watching it in Vancouver. Altitude and versus don’t exist here and I’m afraid that caps/bruins, habs/leafs, and flames/canucks will trump screens during the game and ceremony.
I get CBC, sportsnet pac, and seattle local but I have a feeling I’m relegated to just crappy internet streams
I just want Drury back... I recognize the Drury->Morris->Statsny chain, and I stick with the statement.
Ugh. Hockey practice just got re-scheduled for 10 pm (Eastern) on Thursday night. Sounds like I won’t be watching the game:(

Only if the team waives Hensick.
It would be nice to have another Bourque – and certainly wouldn’t be surprising (insert team nepotism joke here). But, the team’s certainly got plenty of other smallish unproven forwards in the system.

I’d like to see Bourque as well, but that pretty much nails it.

then again, maybe he could go to LEM and play on a line with Sertich and Haydar

wouldn’t we then have to waive him to send him to LE? What are the rules there?

yeah, we would. just trying to be funny. and failing.

born in loveland, but i went to school at baylor in texas for undergrad and grad school. love it here, so glad i found a job here. :)
still dickering around finalizing the NZ/Australia trip. any thoughts on what we should do over a 2 week span? we’re kicking around maybe trying to hit the Aussie open for some of the opening round action too, my wife and I love tennis. beyond that im nearly clueless.
Black water rafting through the glow worm caves on the north island was pretty cool. On the same day you can see Rotorua. The Bay of Islands and Coromandel (sp?) Peninsula on the north island are worth checking out. Basically the north island is mostly made up of green rolling hills but there is a lot of beautiful, varied coast line too.
The south island is more rugged, but also with amazing coastline including fjords on the west side. You can go whale watching off of the east side of the south island. Queenstown on the south island is basically one of the adventure capitals of the world. I did the awesome foursome in one day: helicopter ride, bungy jump off of a bridge, jet boat ride, and white water rafting. One helluva day.
In Australia, I’ve been to Sydney, the Gold Coast (around Brisbane), and up around Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef. If I had to skip one of those 3, it would actually be the Gold Coast. The reef, and the old forests near there, are definitely worth checking out.

my 2 cents -
In NZ we really enjoyed Queenstown and also a trip to the fjords
Rafting and/or river boarding around Queenstown is nice, and unlike CO you can actually drink the water from the river.
The winerys in the Marlborough region are really good if you are into Sav Blanc/Pinot/Semillon
- In Sydney (lived there for 3 years) hit the Lord Nelson pub in the Rocks if you like old bars.
- If you want to surf/hit the beach while in Sydney, I preferred Manly to Bondi….and getting there by ferry is a great way to see the harbor
- It is a bit out of the way, but if you are into snorkeling and/or diving the Ningaloo reef in WA is in better health than the Great Barrier Reef…but admittedly it is a pain to get to.
- If you do go to the great barrier reef, the snorkeling and everything is cool, but when you are in the water a reef is a reef….but from the air via Helicopter, that is another story altogether. We splurged and did the flight back from the reef (you have to ride out a ways by boat) and it was totally worth it.
and finally – the best food in Oz with a belly full of beer is a kabob (pronounced “Ka Baab” there).
Hockeywebcasts.com is one I used A LOT last year to watch out of state games. They usually just link up to Justin.tv but use others as well. Quality varies but the site usually finds the link for you.
Joe Sakic. Captain forever.

I’m stoked. Its being shown over here on Pay TV live, after the Boston/Whoever, want to say Caps for some reason game So I’ll get to watch a Live recorded game when I finish work that should have parts of the jersey raising shown. So nobody post any scores on facebook since thats my primary time waster at work and I don’t want the game ruined.

There's no way I'm going to get to see it
It has, unfortunately, been scheduled on the same day as my trip to Oktoberfest. If I can even see far enough to watch hockey by 1am, I’m going to be very disappointed.
Chicago Calling...
I’ve got access to Versus, but not Altitude here. I have CenterIce online, but not CenterIce. Any way you guys can think of that I’ll be about to watch the game?
Versus is showing the game. It’s the Jersey Raising Ceremony that’s on Altitude.
So if you have Versus you’ll catch the game but not the ceremony, unless Center Ice broadcasts the Altitude feed (so far it hasn’t shown up in my guide).
