Hmmm, he did take a few more shift
I apologize to the nurse. But not to crack town.
And with the 32nd pick in the 2009 NHL draft, the Red Wings select: Someone other than Ryan O'Reilly. LOL@Detoilet.
See, I look up from my shenanigans with Hot Pocket once in a while to notice a few things. (yes, I used the word shenanigans & the pun was intended)

Foote
Hoping for Foote. Yikes…ONeill turns my hair gray.
At the beginning of the Oil-Nucks game
Sportsnet showed the man games lost stats for the league. The Avs are third with 190 man games lost. Compare this to the Fladouches, who are 28th (I think) with something like 53.

If you look at the number the Avs have more MGL than both the Canucks (187) and Hurricanes (188), meaning they are 3rd overall, but Mirtle’s is looking at the fact that Vancouver and Carolina have played one game fewer; so their number could still surpass the Avs. Though the longer Foote, Wilson and Hejduk remain out the higher the Avs number will go as well.

calGARY should be embarrassed

I don’t like all the negativity to Mirtle. It’s unwarranted and makes us look like a pretty douchy fanbase!
Yes. We should all be completely tame and respectful at all times. Even if it is just for our own entertainment and completely exaggerated for the sake of being spiteful… And by spiteful I mean kinda like taking one quote and and mashing it into the ground. “sexual relations”, “read my lips”, “It depends on what the meaning of the words ‘is’ is.”, "I think we ought to raise the age at which juveniles can have a gun."etc.

I get what you’re saying but it kinda looks to me like the wheels fell off in the second half…
Ill check with Mirtle to be sure.

There’s no negativity here – thus the =P after it. Mirtle is and always has been the bomb, he along with In The Cheap Seats were 2 of the first hockey blogs I read.
There is a big difference between making fun of what someone says that is proven to be inaccurate and criticising the person themself. For example, just ‘cause there is a meme here that Tyler Arnason is a less than extraordinary hockey player doesn’t mean we think he’s a bad person. I’m sure Mirtle can see that this is the case.
Don't know
He just got a little bit pissy with me, I think. Including a response that didn’t make a lick of sense. Then deleted both of our comments from the thread.
Plus, his blog is pretty much dead now. He is working more full time for a Toronto paper and only has time to post block quotes from other people. Not much of a blog, imo.

Yeah…its sad from the rink has essentially died.
I think the thing is some people were going further than necessary to criticise him, it was clearly his subjective analysis of the data he found. The reason we jumped on it was also because it really embodied the underdog status that the Avs had early in the season.
But, if it offended him and others here, then that sucks and hopefully they see us for the classy (and highly sarcastic) bunch we are.
Thanks for the blog review.

Seriously though
I have been impressed with the teams depth. Sucks losing Wilson for a while but hopefully another D-man can show his stuff while he is out.
Hopefully #9 is not ten less than #19
Offenses I advocate the ban hammer for:
Suggesting we resign Shamwow
Implying that Hedjuk won’t retire an Av
Supporting Tom Preissing skating with an A on him basically ever again

Look at 4,5,6 on that list
All playoff teams. All potential division leaders. That’s just impressive.
Avalanche 2009-2010: Ostensibly, the worst team in the league. Realistically, top of the NW division.
Speaking of rookie defenseman.
Did we ever get a reason for trading Nigel Williams?
