Hendricks Out vs. Preds
Really? So that makes Wilson, Foote, and Hendricks out friday (plus Hejduk/Jonesy and all the other injured Avs)...ugh. Top 2 lines need to REALLY step up!

Wait, you forgot Svatos…oh wait…
Looks like we get some Wes O’Neil time on D tomorrow
If this is a re-build...we should do it every year.
haha
after “all the other injured avs” i was actually gonna put “…well with the exception of Usless Svatos”

so, who gets the call-up? Stoa? Dupuis?

Whomever it is…this is their shot.
Could we see another Chris Stewart emerge?

I bet it’s Hensick.
Also, Dater’s Twitter background borders on garish. That is all.
The Avalanche, clearly, are down with No PP.
I gotta go with Stoa…

I agree it will be Hensick...
idk what happens to Hensick when he gets to the NHL, but the Avs will get sucked into his huge AHL stats (34 pts in 24 games)…i just wish he could put up 1/3 of the bumbers he puts up in AHL

not sure it’ll be Hensick. he probably deserves it, but why bring him up to play on the 4th line?

Are you counting 9 minutes 30 seconds of penalty time in that estimate?
The Avalanche, clearly, are down with No PP.
If Hensick is called up, doesn’t he have to pass through waivers? If the Avs are going to get rid of him, it should be through a trade and not because someone snipes him off of waivers. Stoa or Dupuis are likely better candidates at this time of the year.

This. Hensick won’t get called up because he would have to clear re-entry waivers in which case the claiming team only has to pay half of the remaining salary on his contract while the Avs are on the hook for the other half. We won’t see Hensick in an Avs’ uni again until training camp next year…unless the Avs call him up during the playoffs.

Hensick is waiver-eligible
He’s not coming back to the big club this season, period.

Are all the injured players on the IR? I may be misunderstanding the emergency call up rules, but I think that if there are only 11 forwards that are not on the IR, then the Avs can call up pretty much whatever forward they want without exposing them to waivers. The question though is whether all the injured players were placed on IR, which isn’t necessarily the case if the team didn’t want to have to wait the minimum IR period before playing them again.
My guess is that you are right and that Hensick (or Haydar or whoever) should be protected.
Hejduk is on the IR, Svatos and Hendricks are not as far as I know.

Ah, didn’t catch that we were talking emergency injury call up. Yeah, I think he would be protected in that case.
Maybe we’d get Hensiiiiiiiiiiiick in this call up and have a good trade asset on display. :)

My first choice would be Stoa, no worries about waivers. If not him, I’d actually like to see Haydar get a shot.
i had the same view on Haydar
but he has a 1-way deal so he’d have to clear waivers when sent back to LEM

I’m honestly not that worried about him getting snapped up to play for another NHL team, their aren’t a lot of teams looking for an undersized career NHLer. Besides, he chose the Avs/Monsters thinking it was the club that gave him the best shot to be in the NHL, so I’d like to see him get his shot before he departs for Europe next year.
something tells me..
he’d be like an older version of Svatos since Svatos should be a career AHL’er lol

that may end up being true, but I’d bet that he would give it everything he had for a couple games in a desperate attempt to stay up with the big club. I’d still rather see Stoa, but I’m incredibly biased on that front.
well i see from u pic u got the Minn connection...
I was pissed Stoa didnt make the team to start lol…hes bout wat 6’3’’ he puts on alil more weight he deff has that Stewie talented power foward potential

Weird
He was at the rink across from the one my son was on, skating with the U-8’s last night (my son got a signed player card from him). I bet one of this little tykes whacked him in the ankle.

Hendricks is listed on the IR and Ryan Stoa is now on the Avs roster on their official site. So, it seems as though he has been recalled.
