Hockey in HD?

Unlike many of you, I have not joined the last decade yet and still have two tube TVs (and get off of my lawn!). (Nice goal by Mauldin by the way) So, I think I am about to take the plunge and get an HD TV, especially since I have HD programming now on Dish (by the way, is buzzed posting the same as drunk posting?). So, anyhoo, I was ready to get a smoking deal on a 47-in Vizio, LCD, 120Hz at Costco on black Friday, but some jackhole came on the radio early Friday morning with some blurb about 120Hz (yeah, I'd rather see McNab on the bench than a 3-on-2 break in with Dutchy, thanks Altibubes, and now while I'm typing I miss a goal). So, where was I? Oh, yeah, that jackhole said something about 120Hz not being good enough for sports.

So, where to turn? Why not here? (Did I mention I think I'm a little buzzed ... Mauldin again, how cool is that?). For those of you in the last century, or even better yet, who have recently purchased an HD TV, what would be best for hockey? Shatty? Wow. Nice to play against a cardboard cutout goalie eh? Back to TVs. LCD? LED? Plasma? 120Hz? 240Hz? A bajillion Hz? Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated.

Did I mention that I'm a little buzzed?
