So what did you bribe her with? One would think Angelique would be dead tired from already MHH & her own blog
good job getting her to do guest articles as her stuff is always a “must read”.
I will say that I too was shocked by the Avs 1st round selection as Hishon had even dropped a lot of radars as a possible first round pick and Etem looked intriguing as a potential 2nd line goal scorer (along the lines of a Rene Borque). I guess someone once rated just outside of the top 5 in draft ratings should never drop off anyone’s radar. Good thing the Avs were more interested in someone with a high ceiling with risk than someone with a lower ceiling with less risk of having an NHL career. The Avs have had success “reaching” with some of their picks (Stastny, Shattenkirk, etc) but have also had mixed results with highly rated players “falling” their draft year (Lazarev, Williams, Wolski, etc.) so hopefully Hishon can continue his domination at the next level. Hard work and skill will get a player far even if they are only 5’10".

The fact that a player who was considered a top 10 pick is not going to lose his ability to play at that level. When the experts dropped Hishon due to a injury and lack of playing time they revealed themselves as fools. Happily the Avs scouts have better memory than the experts. But then again, that’s why the Avs staff are actual working scouts, the so-called experts don’t actually work for NHL teams.

I don’t know. I guess it depends on the injury, right? Someone who depends on speed gets an injury that slows them down by half a step has nothing at that point. Someone who depends on toughness and hitting gets, say, a back injury where they have to back off on giving and taking hits winds up useless.
wonder how far Hodgson would have dropped
if his back issue had been the headache it has been, over the past few years, prior to his draft year.

The Avs should have traded down rather than picking up a guy who can’t crack 2 PPG.

PPG Avg.
Unless I’m an idiot – it appears as though Senor Hishon leads the entire CHL in point-per-game average.
When comparing him to Austin Watson – who I expected the Avs to take – fuck was I wrong! Thankfully!
I'd rather be SOBER than a redwings fan.

I don’t know what’s worse his 23 points in 25 games (isn’t that like 5 points in 25 games in the AHL, the O has a bit of offense) or that he’s the oldest of 10. I just don’t know how parents can do that….logestically, economically, how do you give all those kids attention.
