I'm not sure about the actual broadcasting times, but be aware that if you are in a mountain or pacific time zone, the games are going to be broadcast on a delay so there could be potential spoilers in this thread.

I want multiple things
1) Stastny to do great.
2) Canada to be able to exact revenge on USA.

When I watch USA play, I keep thinking that they should flip-flop Stastny and Kesler. USA started with a top line of Parise – Stastny – Kane. But, that line didn’t jell, and they put Langenbrunner, Parise’s linemate in New Jersey, on the right side instead of Kane.
With the second line of Malone – Pavelski – Kessel having good chemistry, this leaves Kane playing with some combination of Kesler, Brown, and Ryan on the third line.
I think that Kesler would be a good fit centering Parise and Langenbrunner because he is a big, solid, two-way center man very much in the same mold as their normal center in New Jersey, Travis Zajac. And putting Stastny and Kane together would give Kane someone to play with.
At this point, I don’t see the lines changing. These are just my thoughts. And no, I’m not suggesting that Kesler is better than Stastny. Stastny would still get the power play time and Kesler penalty killing duty. And in a short tournament like this, you definitely need to be able to role four lines. I just think that this seems like a better use of the forward depth and spreads out the scoring more instead of having two scoring lines and two more grinding, defensive lines.

Stastny has been in pretty good position to score in all the games, but his linemates aren’t great at getting the puck to him when he’s in front of the net.

I have NEVER seen a more incompetent broadcasting team when it comes to the use of the telecaster…. you got olczyk struggling to get the buttons to work, arrows coming from off the edge of the screen, and emerick asking for things to get circled that don’t get circled. madness.

I've been here for 4 yrs now
IT hasn’t changed a goddamn thing, even though the network was originally built for a fraction of the usage it’s getting now.
They set it up 5 yrs ago, for about 3000 students total, about 1000 on at peak. They now have 5000 here at peak times.

Is it just me, or are most players in this tournament playing with loose helmets/straps? I’ve seen more lost helmets in the last 4 games than I have in the entire NHL season to date.

Does anyone want Drury back seeing him here? Maybe in a couple years when he’s a UFA give him a 1 year deal for one last glorious run. His contract with the $$$men runs out just when Duchene et al should be hitting their best.
If it wasn’t for his contract I might, but he making too much for a 3rd/4th line guy.

Kept my keyboard silent for all of you, hope I didn’t ruin anything earlier. Helluva game, Hiller did all he could do to keep his team in it and was the difference between this being a close game and a blowout. Miller played solid, didn’t get a whole lot of work but stayed focused and made the saves.

Just saw the final score. WHEW! I was watching until about 7:00 left in the third and then I had to go run practice. So I was a little worried that the Swiss had found a way to beat Miller to tie, and then some how won in OT or SO (are they doing SO in elimination games?)

and wanted to say that I’ve developed some man-love for Erik Johnson during the Olympics. I think he’s been the US’s best skater and the best defenseman in the tournament. I’ve been disappointed that nobody on TV has mentioned it and that Ron Wilson is still giving more minutes to Ryan Suter.

for the groin kick later in the tournament. They’re going to let their guard down and think that now this team has woken up and can dominate everyone, then…BAM! A loss to Sweden or something and they go into a deep national depression.
I think Sweden is the only team left that can beat Canada. Unlike the Russia, Sweden is well rounded and can actually play defense. I’m not sure the US can beat Canada twice. If the Canadians get by the Swedes, I think the gold is theirs.

does that mean that the gold medal game is going to be tape delayed, too. If so, I may become homicidal. I was flipping out when the game wasn’t on any channels at 1, and I thought I was missing it. Then I discovered it was on tape-delay while miraculously avoiding the score (I’ve been really bad at avoiding results all week, and it’s been pissing me off). Needless to say I was annoyed, but not nearly as much as I will be if the gold medal game is on delay. Apparently people in the west are second-class NBC citizens.

Happy as hell that Canada won, but Semin fucking cleaned his clock and Boyle responded with the ultimate pussy move in hockey, the slew foot. The always mediocre Ed Olcyzk tried to pass off Semin’s hit as dirty, that’s a load of shit.
Again, it was nice to see the increasingly annoying Alex Ovechkin and that KHL-happy team get knocked out, but Boyle acted like a little bitch.

Will anyone score in this game? The Czechs won’t stop taking penalties, the Finns can’t cash in (and they’re all related to each other).
I decided to root for Finaland
(Who FINALLY just scored!) And even though this game has been pretty even handed I think it’s because the Czechs are tired. I think we have a better chance against Finland.
The reffing in this game has been terrible though. Delays of game, tackling, tripping, wtf?
Definitely a boring game. Especially since it is follow the Bertuzzi the Russia left on the ice.

i am having a hard time staying awake…and i really wanted to watch the sweden game….foppa and all. but i’m thinking it’s gonna have to be a highlight thing.

With Halak playing as well as he is, the Slovaks have a shot against anybody. Especially when they arguably have the most dangerous forward among either team in Gaborik.
