Young Guns IX-X: The Renegades
Well, I finally did it. The video of our boys is done. You've all been waiting patiently and I thank you for that. It took too many hours and I lost too much hair but I learned a valuable lesson: don't bother with all the new computers and new software when the old shit works just fine...and doesn't have issues with, you know, doing what it's supposed to do.
I shall try to embed the video here, but I do suck terribly at it so if it doesn't work, this sentence will end up being a big ass link to the YouTube site. You may notice that the hour at which I'm posting this post is in the wee morn PST. I am obsessed with getting this damn thing done. I really do hope you like it. I had fun making it; I really did. And it kept me loving our boys through all those Bertuzzi-ass games recently. It also really made me miss Wilson. I'm glad he's back.
Anyway, without anymore ado, here it is:
*UPDATE* For anyone who's interested, this is the intro I included in the YouTube blurb: The Colorado Avalanche is full of extremely talented rookie and second year players who are hungry for success. Their drive and ambition are a big part of why this team has defied the odds to become a playoff contender in the Western Conference. They continue to silence critics and take advantage of opponents who underestimate them. This video is an introduction to these young players who have secured spots on the top lines of the Avs this season and beyond: Kyle Cumiskey, Matt Duchene, T.J. Galiardi, David Jones, Kyle Quincey, Ryan O'Reilly, Chris Stewart, Ryan Wilson and Brandon Yip. Their average age is 22.
(Thanks for the front page promotion! I feel special now.)

WARNING: Save for pregame viewing.
Well done. Now I am all pumped up for the next game. I shouldn’t have watched it so far from the next game.
Fantastic video! It might have made you miss Wilson, but it made me really miss Jones. Sigh…
Forever grateful that Joe Sakic isn't a douche bag like Brett Favre.
Sigh is right. With Jones I had to close my mind off a bit cuz it’s going to be sooooo long before we can see him again. = ( x a gazillion

Damn nice work. Who the hell needs Kovalchuk anyway? How can you build a team if one guy is taking up a quarter of the cap space? THIS is how you build a team. Not only am I pumped up for the next game, but the future, these guys are lookin’ solid for many years.
meh

First goal was by Dr. Jones :3
I call it... The Avaslug!
I am the 1st and probably only official member of the David "Dr." Jones fanclub.
Syracuse Basketball 2010: Making Hoya's cry.
my fave dr jones moment was the goal where the d-man was trying to push him off the puck and jonesy just has his left arm on him like “whatever dude,” controls the puck with his right hand on the stick and at the last minute dinks the puck past the goaltender. then he just skates away like it was a routine empty netter during practice. freaking awesome.

Great work Beachie! Thanks very much!
btw, Rec’d the hell out of this one!

SO SICK
I loved the part with all of the wilson hits! The timing was perfect. Also the wilson fight around the 2:30 mark! It seemed like he was punching to the music!
Yeah
The music was awesome!

Wow, fantastic work!
This is excellent, really really great.
As I was watching it, it suddenly dawned on me how incredible it is that the Avs PR department didn’t produce this (that is, weren’t smart, motivated or in touch enough to do so). Well done.
In protest of adulthood
That was exhilerating!
See now, here’s hoping that someone like Dater could see that, get word to Avalanche brass that fans not only can do stuff like this, but want to do stuff like this.
A pipe dream of course, but wouldn’t it be sweet to use proper, high-quality footage for these clips? Plus, there’d be the option of finding more awesome highlights. I would be so pumped watching that in the Can before a game.
/C’mon! Let’s make it happen!
They say the Avs look like smurfs when they wear these jerseys... I just don't see it.
Awesome!
That looks so good! I’ve never made a video before but it sounds tedious as hell, major props for putting this together. I love the collection of Wilson hits- I was so glad to see him back at ’em against the Oilers. And I have to put in an obligatory :[ for Jones. Internet emoticons could never truly convey my sadness for that whole situation.
It sure was. The NHL released a video with some of the bigger plays and it was on there too. Thanks Beachie for putting that one in! I also noticed a goal by BMF in there ;)

The only thing it’s missing (besides more cowbell of course) is some Andy/Budaj goalie love.
But I can’t complain, love the music, love the highlights!

Advice to Red Wing Fans: If you don't want the reputation of being whiners, then stop whining about EVERYTHING. Your team is allowed to lose games, and when they do, it's not always because of the refs or Gary Bettman, and you seem to continuously claim
Great Vid Beachie!
This is only about 100 times better than anything I’ve seen on Altitude or at the Can. Think you could hook the Avs up with it?
And with the 32nd pick in the 2009 NHL draft, the Red Wings select: Someone other than Ryan O'Reilly. LOL@Detoilet.
Suh-weeeeet!
Very nicely done, Beachie!

And thanks to everyone for the sweet compliments! They make all the work worth it. I’m so glad ya’ll like it. I really wish I had gone into this stuff for a living. It’s so much fun. Of course, if I did it for a living I’d probably wish I’d gone into teaching. lol.

nice video
and if you’re unaware, the GD thread at hfboards posted and is discussing the video. currently there are many asstards that think the musical selection is “terrible,” and would rather listen to Nickelback. I couldn’t make this up if I tried.
Anyways,I love the video, love the musical choice, and love the editing with the BOOM SHAKA BOOM Wilson hits. well done.
Speaking of nickelback
The music selection at Av games has gone steadily downhill this season for some reason. Nickelback won the jukebox selection contest the other night against the Oil because the other two selections were even more lame. Ugh.

Unpossible. People are just dumb.
A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day.
No, the other 2 were miserable. Nickleback is just terrible.

yeah, if you thought NB was bad, the other two were way worse. They in no way, shape, or form would have got the crowd riled up or pumped for the game. Not the Nickleback was good, but it was better than the other options. For shame….
No such thing as a hockey fan... only hockey fanatics!
Go AVS!!!
No.
Nothing on this Earth is worse than Nickelback. Not even Motley Crue.

Let's see
Any gangsta rap, Teagan & Sara, Celine Dion, AFI just to name a few.
Yes, there are much worse things than Nickelback.

Marching with the Burgundy Brigade
The Beatles are worse than Nickelback. Yup, I said it.

And Todd Bertuzzi deserves the Lady Byng more than Joe Sakic ever did. There, I said something crazy too. ;)

My statement is not crazy, it is a musical opinion. Your statement is a bannable offense. JOE!!!! Where are you?!?!?!
Seriously though, I am not a big fan of “pop” music, as it is simple, formulaic, and written for the least common denominator. The Beatles, being one of the original Pop bands, rank at number one in my list of bands I don’t like. Yellow Submarine, for example, should never have been played on anything but Sesame Street.
I’m sure that we’ll have to agree to disagree on this, but please take into account that I listen to an extremely wide variety of music, and am not a person who only likes gangster rap just saying the Beatles suck to piss people off.
Oh, and comparing the Beatles to Bertuzzi I can understand, but Nickelback to Joe Sakic? That’s the crazy talk. :)

Hm, that argument does cover the first few years of the Beatles, but what about the next three? Revolver, Sgt Peppers and The White Album, while all sold fairly well, didn’t really conform to the era’s ideals of popular music. I guess you could argue that it ‘became’ Pop, as in it was emulated so much in the following hippie years the sound became monotonous.
I suppose my real argument with what you have put forward is that I don’t consider the Beatles later work to be Pop because they were the originators. When it came out it was weird and psychedelic and funky… no one else had been doing that. At least not on a large scale. That was the type of music that help spark the new age revolution. Sure, other bands that did psychedelic better were out there [Yardbirds, Byrds, Doors, Dead, Airplane], but they were the ones that brought it mainstream.
As originator Hippie Artistes, they couldn’t have been pop. When their music became cliche and Yoko helped the band shatter, they couldnt defend themselves against imitators.
Thanks Joe...
Good points, but I wouldn’t consider them “Hippie Artistes”. Maybe later, certainly not at first. I still just don’t like them.

I've watched this again...
And I gotta say I am loving Wilson more. He hits everyone and they never seem to see him coming! :)

Wilson
I don’t ever want to say that i didn’t appreciate the kid, but this video makes me realize exactly how valuable he is to this team. Also I just got my duchene jersey today, my last avs jersey was a third jersey from grade 10 so im glad I can officially get back into the mix. Dinger for Rookie of the year, Sacco for Jack Adams, Avalanche for Stanley. O’Reilly out.
