I dunno about you guys
But I was actually pretty happy with this game. The Avs showed considerable improvement through all three periods, got some excellent chances, and seem to have learned that they can’t just take invincible goaltending for granted. Anderson and the defense were both shaky at the beginning but were rocking at the end, and Quincey in particular improved his play tenfold over the course of the game.
Cumiskey and Hannan were great, Porter showed some flashes of excellent hockey sense, Duchene was a puckhandling wizard, our top two lines were dominant, and the energy line did its job perfectly. If not for Wilson leaving the game and leaving us with 5 defensemen, we might have very well tied it up. Excellent effort from the Avs, much better than either of the last two wins, and hopefully they can start up where they left off on Sunday.
Also, how about that Corsi, huh? Sure is a telling sign of who’s going to win.

I'm happy with this game too.
The Avs definitely need to work on their defensive coverage in front of the net when the puck is behind the goal line, but I thought they played a solid game for the most part.
The Porter/RoR/Svats line was fantastic. Both Svats and Porter made some great plays to sustain pressure in the Flames’ zone.

I like the “don’t put Tucker with Radar” idea a lot. As far as being happy with this game, tell that to my ulcer.

Some random nitpicking too
Mueller has been fantastic for us, but one knock against him I noticed this game is that he isn’t very good at keeping the puck in the zone, which is key for a guy who plays the point. Part of it is luck, but I reckon the Avs PP would improve lots if he gave it some work.
Also, Stastny should be playing smarter defense. He took two unnecessary penalties tonight and was letting too many guys get behind him. Though that can probably just be chalked up to the Avs having to play mad aggressive and overcommit offensively.
Not huge or anything, just though they were noticeable factors in this one game is all.
I noticed both those things as well so they are law. So say I.
