The dust has settled, and now it's time to finish off this long day with some hockey. Hopefully, the Avalanche will give a little more effort than they did on Monday night. They are still in good shape in the playoff race and the chase for a division title, but that will change with a few more nights like the last game.
The Avs will have one new face in the lineup tonight - forward Peter Mueller. Where he plays is anyone's guess at this point, but he will be wearing #88 as he did in Phoenix. Kevin Porter has been assigned to Lake Erie along with the other player grabbed in the Yelle deal, Harrison Reed. Yelle, according to Dater, will not be in the lineup tonight. Hejduk is out as well. With the injury to Yip and the recall of Ryan Stoa, that leaves the following forwards available for tonight (with some quick and dirty line combos which probably bear no resemblance to what we'll actually see):
- Galiardi - Stastny - Stewart
- Stoa - Duchene - Mueller
- McLeod - O'Reilly - Svatos
- Durno - Hendricks - Tucker
On defense, Kyle Cumiskey is out again tonight (but skated today, according to AD). That leaves 7 healthy defensemen so roll d6+1 to see who will be the scratch.
Do I need to tell you who will be between the pipes? Didn't think so.

I’ve only got three numbered jerseys. A CSKA Moscow 1991 Pavel Bure. A Spokane Chiefs Jared Cowen (Ottawa’s first pick last year, 9th overall), autographed on the back, with captain C.

Hmm, haven’t worn my Hejduk since Czech-Slovakia night. Been wearing my 67’s around town for Canada celebrations and my Cowen one because it’s awesome. I think it’s a Hejduk day.

They seem to stock L and XL in Vancouver. Not much in M. S is actually more common
Every Sakic one I find is XL or bigger. Finding the white Nordiques in M and being unable to buy it was painful. I bought a hat instead.

I am nervous for this game! And even though it’s speculative I don’t love the way those lines look and I definitely can’t think of anything that sounds better.
And there are two lose/ lose games going on tonight (Vancouver/ Detroit and Minnesota/ Calgary.)
Also, the fat guy on the Canucks just scored.
I just want this day over, and I’m not very hopeful for tonight.

Oh I’m not too worried about Mueller, I’m just bummed about Hejduk, Cumiskey, Yip, and Jones (yes still, haha, every day of my life!) I only miss Wolski because I won’t get to use the elaborate chop I made of him awhile ago (since he gave me no chances with his not scoring and all, haha) but I can’t use my Yip chop now either.
One day he will be back!

My girlfriend’s a Canucks fan and blogger. She got us tickets to Colorado-Vancouver in the fall. I’ve actually gotten her to wear my Avs hat.
She also owns an Ohlund jersey AND a Rypien jersey.
And she respects my Ottawa and Colorado love.
