To the Wing?
I know that this seems like a shot in the dark or far fetched. I was thinking about JM Liles and his dog house antics with "The Coach" and thought, what would it be like to have Liles on the wing? I mean it is could not be that horrible, he has good speed, toughness. I think that he would be a good third liner or something to that affect. I know that it is an odd thought but it is just that a thought.
So what do you all think?

First off, Liles is rocking right now, so why move him? Secondly, we’re heavy on third liners as it is since Tucker’s not going anywhere (unfortunately). Most importantly, Liles doesn’t like playing winger; it’s not his natural position and he doesn’t transition well into it. You can tell he just doesn’t feel comfortable there from the few times he’s been shifted up. Maybe if he spent some time practicing at that position it would be different, but I don’t see anyone – Sacco, Liles, Liles’ manager, me – letting that happen. (D-men are WAY sexier!)

If you are going to move someone to wing, I have always like the idea of RoadRunner.. let him use that lightning speed to our advantage. But like Beachie said, where do you put him? Theres no line that needs him. We might have to send a forward down in the near future anyway, so who is it going to be?
Thanks Joe...
Isn’t it super cool that we have too many good players, leaving us in a pickle about who should go and who should stay?? What a difference a year makes, eh? =)

I think Liles needs to be on defense – as most of the expiring contracts after this season will be on D (Foote, Clark and Salei), despite the log-jam on D at the moment.
Plus, moving forward, it appears Liles and Hannan are going to be relied on as the veteran leaders on defense to help tutor the Shattenkirk’s and the like coming through.
