Avs Marketing?
So, I know we all like to bash on the (lack of) Avs marketing around here, so I thought I'd share a little something with you all. Today I received a phone call, from a real live person no less, asking me not only how I was doing, but if I'd be interested in hearing about the deals the Avs are offering on upcoming games. I was so shocked I could only say to call me back next season as I can't make it to any more games this year. Total blown opportunity I know, but I'm just not as quick on my feet as some of you around here, especially when said person catches me in the middle of a nap during my census job (your tax dollars at work!!!)
So have any of you received these calls, and are they maybe related to the MHH gathering? I can't think of any other way they got my number, especially since she said "we're calling Avs fans to offer them deals on tickets". Hopefully you can respond to their questions and find out just what kind of deals they had as I couldn't get my jaw off the floor long enough to query said potential victim.
All in all though, good to see (hear) them making an actual effort to sell some tickets.
And please don't let Ballsilly be the next owner of the Avs. K thx bai.

Yeh I’ve received those calls throughout the season.
Through some data mining operation, I think they got a list of potential Avalanche customers. If you’ve ever used a credit card on Ticket Horse, I suppose they tracked down a phone number.
The “deals” they offered me were not really deals. They were offering discounted tickets to games that already had discounts (Guys night out nights, Puck Pack nights etc…) They were really just trying to sell those discounted tickets and tell me I was getting a special deal.

I got a call about tix for the remaining season and season tix and packages for next year. I’m sure it was from the tix I bought through Ticket Horse given I live in CA… I took the chick’s name and number cuz she was nice and answered a bunch of my questions. In case anyone’s interested, they do offer a bunch of other ticket package options that aren’t listed on the website.
This is our team: underrated, filled with amazingly talented kids and veteran leaders, both young and old, who are buying into the vision of a hard working, fast moving, never-say-die game. They are the 2009-2010 Colorado Avalanche.

I got that call yesterday,
The guy was very polite and understanding when I informed him that I couldn’t afford to buy any more tickets this year.
He did tell me that the ticket offers he was telling me about were available to the general public but that they wanted to make sure that I was aware of them.
Even went so far as to recommend that I find another couple that might want to split a fourteen game package for next season.
I got a call like this last year also, I do think it’s generated off the tickethorse site.
But I appreciate that they’re doing someting and that it’s not a machine calling my house.

Yeah, i liked that it was a real person, and she was very nice and not pushy at all.. I told her the same thing, that I have no money for games this year, but call me next year.
