Who's the Next Signee for the Avalanche?
So Peter Budaj and David Koci have been re-signed, some prospects have been let go, there's a lot of ?'s to be answered down in Lake Erie and the Avs have tons of cap room. Ohh, and Dater is opining that Sherman was 100% truthful about not shopping the FA market this season.
So the question is, who's the next guy to ink a deal with Colorado?

Good point, and
We need someone who turns the puck over all over the ice like WoWo, since we are already so strong at turning it over in our own zone.

I vote tucker, because hey, if Koci gets re-signed because he’s good in the room Tucker is obviously next.
MHH- A drinking site with a hockey problem
Detroit Sucks
I agree.
I suspect they started talking with all three of them right away and they just haven’t come to a $ figure agreement with Tucks. He’s probably holding out for more than they want to give him. He’ll get more than we think he should – $1.5?

I for one,
believe that he should retire and pursue higher education.
but goddam i don’t want to see him back in a uni.
2009-2010 Colorado Avalanche - Much more gooderer than last year!
In spite of myself,
I chuckled.

Can he be October-Tucker?

No Stewart or Mueller?

Sherman is certainly settling with his veterans first it seems with Foote, Budaj and Koci. Seems to me if Tucker, Clark or the like were to re-up then we would hear about it before the draft. I think after the draft (and trades!) Sherman will do some of the heavy lifting on the Stewart and Mueller deals.
Stewart
Did you see Dater’s comment that he thought Stewart and his agent would be looking in the $2 million/year range? I was surprised by that since I’ve heard $3-$4 bandied about here. $2 million? I’d do that in a heartbeat.

yep, I saw that too
No way I’d go $4M already on Stewie, but I was thinking $3M per might be in the ballpark. I was shocked to see that.

If we can get Stewie for $2M, I would consider that a fantastic bargain. To be honest, I was worried about other teams putting qualifying offers on him. Size, grit, ability to put the puck in the net, what team doesn’t need that?
Also, do you think Stewie’s number will predict where Mueller falls? I can’t see Mueller making more than Stewie, but whenever agents get involved …

I think that the Mueller Injury Card is a strong one to argue against a huge contract for the guy. Very powerful, especially when dealt by the Sharks Captain.
Stewie for 2mil$ is an absolute deal, and if we could squeeze Ferris for the same or a bit less would be absolutely amazing.
Thanks Joe...
I hear Chris Osgood may be looking for work. Maybe Detroit would consider swapping him for Dutchie and Radar. We could use a Hall of Famer between the pipes, and Jimmy Howard could use some coattails to ride to a title or two, much like his predecessor.
I hate the Red Wings.

and in no way has he earned the Turgeon card! Darkest day in Av history, letting Foppa and Foote walk while signing washed up vets Breezeby and Turgeon. FU PL for that day. And for signing Brad May.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they signed a bottom-six’er need – someone like Hendricks or Durno – ‘cause in theory it shouldn’t take as long to come to an agreement where the salary isn’t massive
I think the Avs are going to re-sign (or at least offer contracts to) Stewart and Mueller before the draft. From what I could interpret from Shermans last interview the RFAs are high on his priority list.
