Happy 39th birthday to team captain Adam Foote. Drafted by the Nordiques in the 2nd round of the the 1989 draft, Foote has played in 1107 regular season NHL games - 920 with the Nordiques and Avalanche - and 170 postseason games (all with this franchise).
Foote's first NHL goal came on January 14th, 1992 against Mike Vernon and the Calgary Flames in a 5-3 loss. Other goal scorers for the Nordiques that night were Doug Smail and Greg Paslawski - two players who combined for 126 total games with Quebec. Goal scorers for the Flames were Craig Berube, Tomas Forslund, Sergei Makarov, Gary Suter and Carey Wilson.
Fun fact: Foote made his NHL debut on October 19th, 1991...one day before Joey Hishon was born.
