Tyler Weiman Signs With Vancouver
CapGeek is reporting that Tyler Weiman has signed a one-year deal with the Vancouver Canucks. Weiman could battle Cory Schneider for the backup job in Vancouver, but might ultimately land on Vancouver's AHL affiliate, the Manitoba Moose. It does not look like he will get a chance to play with former Avalanche Mike Keane, who has not yet been re-signed by Manitoba.
Weiman has one NHL appearance - a 16-minute relief appearance in 2007 - as well as a few games as a back-up on the bench.

some have said ‘oh the avs are crazy, they let him walk’ ‘wasted talent’ etc etc
how long was he in the organization? 7 years?
cracked the big club..how many times? I get when you’re playing behind guys like Aebi, Theo, Andy, competing for a job, you might not get it, but was Budaj not the constant ‘I have to beat this guy for a job’ for Weiman
I wish him the best in vancouver, hopefully he breaks through there.
Just not against us
Is it October yet?!

Budaj was already in with the Avs by the time Weiman came around and would’ve had to clear waivers for Weiman to take his spot. I think the Avs goaltending situation played against Weiman getting a legitimate chance at playing for them as anything.

True, but the Avs had the opportunity to give Weiman a chance last season, or even this season instead of re-signing Budaj. The fact that they are choosing to let Weiman walk, and re-sign Budaj, yet again, probably says something.

It seems like Vancouver might be purposefully trying to get under the Avs' skin
Last year they acquired Yan Stastny, this year they acquired Jordan Oreskovich (a 2nd round draft pick of the Avs that decided to quit hockey while in the Avalanche system and reappeared two years later in Florida) and now they’ve signed the goaltender constantly on the out when he was with the Avs.
You can’t really make a claim that any of these guys are tremendous additions to their team so why sign them? Probably to piss Avalanche management off.
FFFFFUUUUUCCCCCKKKKKK YYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAA!
clearly, they need to sign Tyler Arnason.

I think you mean to say Victor Oreskovich but are confusing him with Jodan Krestanovich

I wish Tyler the best. Good numbers behind a horrid Lake Erie defense for two straight years. He just got stuck…should have had a chance behind 2008-09 Budaj and Raycroft, since both sucked the big one. That’s when he SHOULD have gotten his chance. Thems the breaks sometimes
Help help! I'm being repressed!
Well that sucks. Weiman was the only goalie from Lake Erie I ever really liked. He was pretty good too, for the 2 preseason games I’ve seen him in >.>
well, he’s pretty much the only goalie they’ve ever had, right?

So now the Monsters have their choice of Graham, Cann, and Cash? I dont really know that much about them all, I will just have to see how they do.
Thanks Joe...
Cash
really walks the line.

well, I was trying to figure out how to work it into a Crosby, Stills and Nash reference but now I don’t have to hurt any more brain cells

I think Sauer (Billy) might still be in that mix, but not sure, haven’t heard anything on him lately.
