Well that sucks for us. Good for him.

Do not agree. Durno took too many awful penalties to be considered even an average 4th liner. Nice guy, but i’m not sad to see him leaving. Hendricks, otoh…

I thought that he was a good LEM top 6er / emergency callup player. He had a good stretch in which he potted a few goals and played well. Toward the end of the season, he started taking boneheaded penalties and really hurt himself and the team.

fair enough, he was ok as an emergency callup. I still think he was a below average 4th liner though.

True.

His primary value would have been in a trade to TOR orchestrated by Down Goes Brown. Truculence and a fleeting glimpse during a classic Leafs brawl? That’s gotta be worth at least a 1st & a 2nd (in 4,230 A.D. when they have their next picks, I mean.)

He was only slightly less worthless than Koci. That said, he’s still not worth league minimum.

I know beggers can’t be choosers but what veteran 4th liner would want anything to do with the Avalanche? Sacco is going to roll three lines for the most part. He will play Koci 3 minutes a game and then the 4th line gets to warm the bench for the rest of the game.

Last year marked the end of the Sakic era. Now we come to the end of the Durno era. I don’t know how much more of this I can take.
