What a great deal!
Seriously, I haven't heard of anything this silly since tying Avs and Nuggets tickets together. From the official Avs' site:
Special Avalanche "Avaholic" season ticket promotion:
If you buy full season tickets anywhere in the arena you can buy the same number of full season tickets in the lower level (sections 112, 114, 110, 116) for only $1,010/seat (usually $3,740/seat) or the upper level for $505/seat.
For example, with this ticket special you could get four full season tickets (two upper level and two lower level) for only $4,044/seat total. The regular total cost of getting two upper and two lower season tickets would be $9,504/seat (savings of over 50%).
Here's how I read this: You like spending money on the Avs? Well, spend some more money for two extra tickets nowhere near your two other seats for just half price! Family of four? What better way to enjoy the game than by splitting up the family. Taking friends to the game? You can always meet up in the concourse!
Coming later this season, the Special Avaholic Randum Number Generator Season Ticket promotion: Buy any season ticket at regular price, and get a second season ticket -- located randomly throughout the building -- for 50% off! That a potential savings of $450/seat, or $18,450 a season!
I also like this statement, "The regular total cost of getting two upper and two lower season tickets would be $9,504/seat" -- Essentially this statement means they admit to an average ticket price for the Pepsi Center of $58 each.
Perhaps corporations may take advantage of this, but I can't see any "Avaholics" thinking this is a good idea.

That’s their version of lowering prices and giving fans a great deal?
No thank you.
Like I said before. Ordering food in and bringing a keg home is cheaper. As well as more comfortable.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but that’s a huge chunk (over one third) of what I bring home per year.
And they wonder why their season ticket base hit the skids?

No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!!
Speaking of ordering chinese and snagging a keg, maybe we should do that a couple times this year. try to get people together in a house instead of a happy hour.
Thanks Joe...

Cool! What brewery?

Any preferred timeframe/date? I’m thinking maybe a Saturday game so those further out might come if they wanted to?

I like weekdays because I don’t lose as much money by taking it off, but as long as I know about it relatively early I can be free any day.

This is actually pretty smart. If someone is buying season tickets anyway, they can sort of “upgrade” to the good seats. Then they just sell their upper deck seats all season on craigslist.
Essentially, Kroenke will have fans selling the tickets for him.
This space available for advertising opportunities.
What you’re asking people to do is resell, possibly at a loss, the season tickets that the Avs themselves are having to create special deals in order to get rid of.
If there were demand for the tickets, perhaps you could even make money. But I don’t see that demand being there for more than a few games this season.

Couldn’t you just buy 2 season tickets anywhere then buy the 2 seats next to the ones you bought? It doesn’t say that the “other” tickets can’t be next to the other ones. The example just makes you think they are spread out.
With that thought (seats not being random) you could get 2 lower level season ticket packs for $4750 (full price for the first and $1010 for the second one). $2375 a season ticket doesn’t look too bad for lower level.
That’s not bad at all. Costs twice that in Anaheim and LA.

Agree
I agree. It gives you the option of buying seats in your section, or splitting them. More options.
I don’t think this is that bad. If you’re buying 2 season tix (you and spouse) you buy one set and get the second for a lot cheaper.
I imagine season ticket holders justifiably) complain that they shell out a years worth of tickets and watch other people get special deals like the family four pack, or whatever. This gives them a chance to take advantage of some specials (especially since I dont’ know anyone who buys 1 set of season tickets).

Any time
You can get a season of seats at $500, it’s an OK deal. If you’ve got a friend or family member who is going to buy lower level seat(s) anyway, chuck them a couple of cases of liquid refreshment and get them to tag your upper level seat(s) in with the deal.
The tix are ones on the 1st level they can’t sell in the defensive zone and I bet they don’t want it to look empty on tv.

I’ve seen a few companies take this deal. To them it doesn’t matter because they just give them away (a pair at a time) to employees. I wonder what the percentage of corporate ticket season holders is.
Lower bowl=quite a bit, upper bowl <40% I would guess.
