Burgundy/White
I've been reading MHH for over a year now, but recently have become more active in commenting/posting. I have always wanted to go to the burgundy/white game, but for whatever reason was never able to go. I just bought tickets to the game this year, and am pretty excited to see the scrimmage and all the rookies play. Anyway, just out of curiosity I wanted to see if you guys (the hardcore fans like me) choose sides for the game (is it by the color unipron you own?) or if it is just more of a relaxed sort of game. Do people cheer during the game?I kind of just want to know what to expect. Should be fun though! Thanks for your input!!
On a completely unrelated note, when is the deadline for the Avs to reach the cap floor? Is it on the first game of the NHL season, something else?

Deadline
If I’m not mistaken (which I probably am) it’s three or four days before the season starts.
Dear Colorado Avalanche: Thank you for the excitement, see you in October.
Actually, I just received word from a reliable source
That the Avs have filled out a form for the NHL’s architectural control committee. They have designs laid out for a cap subfloor, several million dollars below the current cap floor, and are awaiting NHL approval. (e6)

This year is my first Burgundy/White game too and I never thought who to cheer for....
I think my seats are near the end boards so I guess I’ll just pick whichever team is defending my side twice.
i think i’ll cheer loudly for………….. ice cream.

I went last year at the USAF Academy...
and actually posted my thoughts here (one of my first). It’s funny looking back on it now because I remember Hendricks got in two “fights”. They didn’t appear to be the goof-off for the crowd sort of thing, so it threw me. After watching Hendricks all of last year, I imagine he was just trying to prove his tough-nosed dedication.
Also from what I remember, there really wasn’t any for/against either side. The crowd was just excited to see good plays (mainly offensive attempts, but they enjoyed the odd D-man breaking up a 2-on-1). Surprisingly there wasn’t as much buzz about Duchene as I was expecting. Some people cheered when his name was announced, but I get the feeling many of the fans there weren’t your hardcore, MHH-style people.
It was still a really fun time with good, open play. The vets seemed to give plenty of opportunity for the rooks to leave their mark.
They say the Avs look like smurfs when they wear these jerseys... I just don't see it.
