A question about NHL Gamecenter Live

Stay connected for news and updates

Just hoping for some input from those that might already have NHL Gamecenter Live.

Yup, the hockey season is once more [almost] upon us!  In looking over my finances for the upcoming year, it turns out that the recession is still in effect, and I was hoping to avoid having to up my cable bill.  That, and I don't want to give Comcast a single dollar more than I already am... I hate them.  So, I am exploring alternatives to doing that.

I spent a season doing the ustream / athp.whatever and getting incredibly grainy, stuttering feeds, assuming they were available.  I would rather not do that again, but its a sight better than just the local radio feed.  I don't mind paying for games, but I want to be sure that the Gamecenter experience is worth it.  I don't even know how much it is per month, and NHL.com hasnt put up their pricing for the next year yet.  I seem to remember that its 20$ a month or so.

So my question to those of you that might have it is... how is the quality?  Do you feel that its worth it over the price of hd cable?  I figure that the cost of Comcast HD cable with a DVR will add about 48$/ month to my internet costs, and I would primarily be getting it just for Altitude.  I mean, I might watch the odd episode of Aqua Teen or Futurama if I had cable, but I would rather spend that time reading a book.  Do you guys have any thoughts for me!

thanks for taking the time!
