Avalanche Training Camp Roster Announced
The Avalanche released their training camp roster today. There are no Shawn Bates-type tryout players, which is not surprising given the Avs' focus on developing the young guns. In all, 56 players have been invited to camp - down just 3 from the 59 invited last year. Interestingly, although the Avalanche roster has been notoriously turnover free, 26 of the 56 players invited to camp this year were not here last year.
While informal workouts with rookies and veterans are already taking place, Friday is the official day for veterans to report and have a physical (Steve Konowalchuk day). Training camp will take place on Saturday and Sunday with the annual Burgundy and White scrimmage taking place on Monday.
The full squad will be on the ice for two days, Saturday, Sept. 18 and Sunday, Sept. 19 at the South Suburban Family Sports Center. Practices and scrimmages will take place in the morning from roughly 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. All sessions are open to the public at no charge on a first-come, first-served basis.

Will be at Saturday's but not Sunday's. Should be pro.
A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day.
This kid seems intriguing. He’s on an amateur tryout:

Angelique Says,
Over the course of this past season, the Avs had been in regular contact with the Medicine Hat Tigers captain. When the NHL Draft concluded in June, he was invited to the Avalanche’s main training camp.
The 20-year-old from Cochrane felt so comfortable with the Avs that he passed up a chance to sign an AHL contract with the Abbotsford Heat, who are a farm club with the NHL’s Calgary Flames.
I was wondering about him
Please keep an eye on him.
Dear Colorado Avalanche: Thank you for the excitement, see you in October.
did you really have to bring up konowalchuk?
that day hurt me so bad
"Oh this young man has had a very trying rookie season, with the litigation, the notoriety, his subsequent deportation to Canada and that country's refusal to accept him, well, I guess that's more than most 21-year-olds can handle... Ogie Ogilthorpe! "

The one that caught my eye was Patrick Bordeleau – 6’-6" 225. Then I got to his stats line. We’ve got our Koci replacement if he ever hangs up the gloves skates.
One thing I find distressing is that Michael Bournival is only 9 months older than my son. I don’t have my glasses on. Is anyone on my lawn?

if he ever hangs up thegloves skatesextra padding for his butt
Fixed
My opinion is worth about what you paid for it: Nothing.
Hey,
That butt earned him a goal!
