Some quick thoughts about the Burgundy and White game
Stewart and Galiardi hooked up for 2 goals for the Burgundy side. They should be on the same line all season.
Duchene must be glad he only plays one game against Foote. Foote gave him a shot in the face after Dutchy took a shot, then ripped off Duchene's helmet later in the game. Foote is an asshole, but he's our asshole so I like him.
Pickard let in a goal he probably shouldn't have, but then redeemed himself later in the game, then again in the shootout.
Trevor Cann let in a very lame goal and we all felt sad for him. He didn't redeem himself in the shootout, but I have some sympathy for him. He had to go against Mueller, Hejduk and Duchene.
I think I'm jumping on the Stoa bandwagon. He should play with an "A" on his chest this year instead of an "M".
There was a Sakic-spotting at the game. We all love that he can't stay away from the Avalanche.
That is all for now. Thank you and good night!

Good stuff
Stoa looked good last night. Got a good look at him since he spent quite a bit of time in the offensive zone at our end of the rink.
The Avs are under the cap floor, and others laugh at them, but when the Tornado comes, they'll be the only safe ones.

I’m glad you both think so. The consensus from my group at the game was “meh” on Stoa.

I thought he was strong on the puck (a lot moreso than last season). Of course he’s playing against weaker opponents last night (and it’s only one game) but he looked to be the strongest forward out there not named Chris Goddamned Stewart.
I’ll be interested in seeing hearing whether he can be as strong against NHL-level players and bodies. But last night he impressed me.

His skating and passing seemed noticeably bad to me. Of course, if his role is to be a power forward a la Ryan Clowe, where he just sits in front of the opposing net for deflections and otherwise just pounds people then he could work out great.
But as he’s looking to be on the 4th line if anything, I’m not sure he can skate well enough to keep up with most top lines.

Stoa is still a work in progress...
he has big potential but needs to still grow/learn. Remember he started off slow last year (in the AHL) until he found the right linemates then he was unstoppable. Better to see top ice time in LE this year and be groomed for a top 9 spot next year if Hejduk retires.
