Guess that solves the pronunciation problem for the time being

So long, Chewy, we hardly knew yee.
Mile High Hockey: Significantly better than the experts predicted, just like the Avalanche.
Surprised by this one a bit. He looked pretty decent to me last night.
The Avs are under the cap floor, and others laugh at them, but when the Tornado comes, they'll be the only safe ones.

Any guess why Patrick Bordeleau is still with the team? The club already has a fighter/thug in Koci, and Bordeleau is on an AHL contractl.

Cuz he’s a big ass mofo who might beis better than Koci??

could be to give him a longer look, could be because they still need warm bodies

This still doesn’t make any sense. Koci is not on a 2-way contract; he’s not going anywhere. Bordeleau is not a great skater, so I don’t buy the warm body thing. They’d have dump Koci to Erie through waivers and get Bordeleau signed to a NHL contract. I’m not a fan of the “designated thug rule” in the NHL, so I guess it dosn’t really matter, but the anal retentive part of me wants an explanation.

When’s the last time an NHL team needed cold bodies, Lord Lou/Kovy dust up aside?

Zach Cohen surprises me a bit to be sent this early when others haven’t…none of the others do. Travis can at least get some time chillin in his inflatable pool, drinking a Bud with his brother Chester before hitting the ice in Erie.

I wonder why Cann stuck when Pickard and Maxwell were sent down?
by MalachiConstant on Sep 21, 2010 9:59 AM MDT reply actions
Maybe since Cann has been with the club longer...
they wanted to give him an extended look at NHL caliber talent

I saw Cann here in Chicago two different times last year. In one game he was a beast (taking over for Billy Sauer), in the other game he stunk (being replaced by Grahame). I’m guessing like Beachie, Age and development)

Yeah, I think it was a pure seniority pick.

Because Cann is AHL and those two are still CHL
better to get a longer look now at a viable professional for this year and let the youngsters get to their teams’ camps
Cohen
This guy is 23. Good size, but it doesn’t seem the club is too high on him if he isn’t getting more of a look.
"I'm gonna fix that last joke by taking out all the words and adding new ones." - MH
He played a month at LEM last season after finishing his career at Boston University (aka. Avs East). I too would have thought a longer look, given his camp play, was the next step. But what do we know. ;-)

I think your point is valid, but I think we also have to remember “normal” defensemen (those not named Drew Doughty or Tyler Myers) take longer to develop. Greg DeVries didn’t really become an NHL player until he was about 27.
Yup. Zach = F; Colby = D

A gem by DGB
“signs you’re getting cut”
Every time you run into anyone from the team’s AHL affiliate they seem to be overly friendly towards you, saying things like “Nice to see you, Jeff” and “Talk to you again real soon, Mr. Finger.”

Dario: Why is there no mention of Bobby Hull and the Blackhawks?! It’s CLEAR that Matt Duchene is using a curved stick. At the very least there should be some homage to the Red Wings in every post here. Wysh is such a hater.
BTW, what do you guys think would happen if Datsyuk made that same move on Jimmy Howard? Wouldn’t that violate some basic principles of Matter? Would the Universe just implode on itself? I…I can’t even think about it, it’s too crazy to even contemplate. It’s like putting mirrors face to face, does the image ever really end? OMG, RED WINGS!

Although not funny like these guys, I did point out the ridiculousness of their argument with noting that, according to their logic, every save utilizing the butterfly or profly technique must give credit to Roy.

Nice to see Sky Walker sticking around
Does he make LE or go for the championship with Portland? Interesting situation seeing that LE may be short on natural RW
I was wondering who was going to say something about the Sky Walker still hanging around. Lets just hope he continues to use the force!!!
Let the new season begin already!!!
i’m thinking he goes back to Portland but at least this gives him a chance to get a long look as to what he brings. I would think the Avs would only put him in LE if they felt he might bring something to that team’s top lines or as a call-up for the Avs. Seeing as that is unlikely (especially due to LE overall depth at forward), he probably gets cut after the stretch of games this week.
selfishly i hope he goes back to Portland so i can see some future Avs (Walker and Ruta-what’s-his-name) in town. Not to mention when they play Seattle (Pickard).
AKA Stastnystooth on twitter... Yeah that's me, his tooth.
