I was kinda impressed there was no “Hejduk to be the Avs 1st line center” or “Peter Mueller should see 3rd line minutes with line mate David Koci” crap. Then at the end we see the line projections…
And They Shall Know No Fear.
who’s to say they won’t be like that though?

At least they had all the players in their correct position and a reasonable estimation as to where they will end up. All they switched from my own personal projection is Hejduk and Stewart. And Stastny has spent quite a bit of time on Hejduk’s line in the past, and I’d say Hejduk is still a bit better player than Stewart, so it’s not an unreasonable projection at all.

Interesting
If the players really put up those kind of numbers I don’t see them being middle of the pack. That 3rd line production would scare the crap out of a lot of teams. So would Colorado have a better 3rd line than Toronto has a 1st line?!?
Every time I read one of these, I wonder whether the writer actually saw any Avs games last year, or whether they were living of SportsCenter reports. I was pleasantly surprised with this write-up until:
The Avalanche will suffer losing defensive defenseman and shot blocking machine Brett Clark this off-season
That’s going to leave a mark on his credibility.

I think I might possibly be the only one who likes Clark. I never hated him, and I own one of his jerseys from when he wasn’t a let down. While yes I agree that his time had to come to an end, I also remember that he wasn’t always bad.

he wasn’t always bad
This is quite possibly the best “obit” ever written for Clark and his time with the Avs.

Couldn't agree more,
Clark was one of the best press boxers in the league. Every time he sat in the press box, he made the team better!

First off… nice community here you have Avs – great participation!
As for the comments, I noticed the Clark blurb in the article and thought it odd, and the feedback is centered around this anomalous statement.
As for line projections, those are the hardest to predict without an intimate knowledge of the team, and even then… Thanks for the feedback and we look forward to sending you some more Avs-related content as it comes in (hoping for a Shattenkirk interview sooner than later).

Thanks for the great season preview.
I personally enjoyed it greatly.
It’s totally our style to pick one thing in an article and completly pick it apart.
It’s nostly in good fun.
Please don’t take that as commentary on the rest of the article.

Yeah it was a great read actually I enjoy seeing how people view our team. Specially when they are a lot more optimistic than some our fellow community here (que Bob’s why do you hate the Av’s)

interesting
He put the lines a lot different than most of us here even predicted. Funny thing about it is I kinda like those lines. I don’t see how CDGS going that low in points lining with dutchy I can just imagine the havoc those two could wreak if they get their timing down. The way he spread it out all 3 top lines are far more balanced. I think he over estimates old man river (read foote) but I would love to be wrong there.
And hey doesn’t every team need a human meat shield? Maybe that’s only in video games sorry if I am mistaken

Agreed on Stewart – I doubt Mueller is going to out score him for the year. I also question Jones being outscored by Yip and O’Reilly on the season.
All in all though, I like these predictions.
That is only if dr. Jones stays healthy I agree. I just have this gut feeling we won’t be seeing him play all season. God I hope I am wrong there though.
