Yes, the Red Wings are all that is wrong with hockey, yes they are a bunch of goons, yes they are hated with a deep passion by all of Avalanche nation, but I just don't get riled up when we play them anymore. I have tickets to tonight's Avs/Wings game, but I did not go out of my way to buy them, they simply came in my 14 pack. I don't know if I would have went to purchase tickets just for tonight's game. To me, the rivalry is dead.
Any self respecting Avs fan would agree, that the Red Wings are the most vile of all NHL teams. I personally will always despise the Red Wings, and will always smile when I see them lose...especially to the Avalanche. But as most fans will agree, the rivalry is not the same anymore.
As much as I hate the Red Wings, there is a team I would rather beat then them. I cannot stand it when the Avs lose to the Canucks. For whatever reason, I don't like Vancouver, it may all stem from the Steve Moore incident, or just because we always play very very intense games vs. Vancouver, but I simply hate the Canucks....I really hate the Canucks. Yes the Canucks are a "division rival", but I feel as if there is extra passion in our team when we play them as opposed to another division team, the games versus Vancouver always are close, with both sides giving it their all. I am always really excited wan I see a COL vs. VAN game on the schedule, I buy tickets to those games. My question is does anybody else feel the same as I do?
If not, do you think the Avs are rival-less right now?
