Maybe there is something to having one of those guys on the bench that changes the way the other team will approach the game, even if it is only subconscious? Like maybe Toews doesn’t cross check Wilson hard in the ribs?

Incorrect!

Eklund, being of negative value, makes the equation:

Dater + Eklund = <Dater

In fact Eklund may actually negate Dater, because Eklund is, in fact, a null set.

Say what you want about Koci, but the last game he was in I thought he played well for a 4th liner. He was physical, roughed people up, and was getting in their face (not to mention his ass had another goal). Hell, if memory serves, the 4th line and him had one of the best shifts in the game (that didn’t result in a goal).

Dater had this to say on his blog:

Oh, and there is even some encouraging news on Peter Mueller. The Avs said he is "making some progress" in his recovery now. That’s it. That’s as far as anything goes with him right now, and it’s all still a big question mark whether he even attempts to play again this year. But the official word is progress has been made.

Ahhh, a glimmer of hope.
