A proud moment for Joey Hishon! So happy for this kid! Ex-Avalanche, Andrew Brunette, had 128 goals. Not too shabby!

But they weren't able to stop the 19-year-old Stratford native from joining Ryan and four others as the only players in Owen Sound franchise history to score 100 goals in their careers.

This could be BIG. The Globe and Mail is saying that Crosby is thinking of turning down the All-Star game, even if his concussion is gone. No, not so he can go party... so he can make a statement.  I can't imagine Bettman would let Sidney Crosby get away with this though...

The word filtering out of the Pittsburgh Penguins is that Crosby is an angry young man, angry enough to pull his considerable star presence from one of the league’s showcase events because he does not think the NHL is doing enough to protect its players.

The source said Crosby, who showed up at the all-star game in Montreal two years ago even though he sustained a knee injury and could not play, is not inclined to do any more such favours right now.

CBCSportstalks about Stephane Da Costa, the NCAA free agent that has many GM's looking his way and 30 thoughts from around the league.  Heaping praise on Ryan O`Reilly.

7. Terrific news that Ryan O'Reilly's injury is nowhere near as severe as first feared. O'Reilly is one of the most respected young players in the game for his focus and preparation, considered "Crosby-esque."

An Avalanche - Canuck preview. Can we say "Ouch"?

The Canucks have gone 8-0-1 in their last nine against the Colorado Avalanche, a streak they'll look to extend Tuesday night at the Pepsi Center as the Northwest Division's top teams square off.

Bill Sweatt, the Vancouver Canuck, talks about his life on Twitter. He learned from the Dan Ellis Saga to be smart about it, hopefully Matt Duchene did too.

"It's been great so far, especially communicating with fans first hand and giving them the experience of what the life is of a professional hockey player," says Sweatt, 22, who's from Elburn, Ill., about 75 kilometers west of Chicago.
