There has been a lot of praise for Landeskog so far this season. I know it is a small sample size, but we see him play the game in a simple but yet very impressive manor. I wanted to look how he has done against other Avalanche Rookies. I am going to calculate his current pace over an 82 game season, and then compare his season to others.
Landeskog- 6GP 2G 1A 23S which would translates to
82GP 27G 13A 314S
Duchene- 81GP 24G 31A 180S
Radar- 81GP 8G 18A 135S
Mules- 81GP 22G 32A 201S
Hejduk- 82 GP 14G 34A 178S
Drury- 79GP 20G 24A 138S
Tanguay- 76GP 17G 34A 74S
Deadmarsh- 48GP 9G 8A 48S
Svatos- 61GP 31G 18A 165S
Stastny- 82GP 28G 50A 185S
Sakic- 70GP 23G 39A 148S
Forsberg- 47GP 15G 35A 86S
Landy is on pace to blow the record on rookie shots and is still in the neighborhood of Svatos rookie goal scoring. Small Sample size? Yes. Still a Stud? Yes. This is not all he is doing. He is hitting, blocking shots and has helped a 3rd line become a force. That is not including all the non statistics of rebounds, scoring chances, drawing double teams and killing penalties by pinning the puck on the boards. All I have to say "Well done Pracey. Well done".
