Professor Utonium has finally reported the results of his experiment on colliding objects.  In this experiment, the Department of Object Collision took a maple leaf and an avalanche, put them in the same room, and then observed what transpired.  To my shock, despite some old dudes apparently surviving an avalanche that one time, Professor Utonium did not rule an automatic victory for the maple leaf because it is a maple leaf.  Check below to see Professor Utonium's conclusion and recommendation moving forward.
