Chicago game recap from a typical fan (and other not so lovely thoughts)

Here's just a quick sum up of what I thought from tonight's game (view from lower level Varly's right side in 1st and 3rd periods). It was my first game this year and It is hard for me to get up to Denver for alot of the games because Im in Fort Collins, so I probably wont do this often. I am just frustrated we lost when I went to a game, such bullshit.

The Good: We had some really good opportunities from what I could see and we look so so much better than last year even though we lost, Varly was nothing short of amazing and kept us in it, O'Reilly and Jones played well, score could have gone our way (but also could've been worse on that note), we didnt let down after one goal which is so refreshing to see again

The Bad: Defense was actually pretty sketchy as most of you saw on TV and there were some miscommunications no question, the chicago fans (more below), we lost, ducthy was absolutely invisible along with stastny, Subasew kind of sucked, I hate Toews, Hossa pisses me off, they clogged the neutral zone so well tonight it was very frustrating to watch. We let them in our zone no problem, but even when Jones was rushing at them, they pushed us to the sides and didnt give us alot of breathing room especially in the 3rd period.

THE WORST PART: Disclaimer- I have nothing really against Chicago/Chicago's fans and i like that town more than alot of other sports towns, but I cant stand their damn fans the past couple of years. I am convinced that they often dont give a shit about the actual team itself, but rather are more invested in heckling the fans around them to try and prove their point thats not there. The most common incidents are with Cubs fans though when I attend Rockies games. Every win they achieve is like winning the World Series to them since we all know they cant win the golden prize nor will they ever. It doesnt matter to them though because a win is good enough and we the denver fans get a huge ear full of horseshit they spit out. As for tonight with the Blackhawk fans, their were some major assholes. One guy in front of me kept standing up during play and turning to all the Avs fans screaming "go hawks" repeatedly until an usher had to tell him to sit down, and he got nearly thrown out. Also, I heard so many blackhawk "fans" trying to talk about their team and hockey and it is pathetic how little they know about their players/team. I was astonished by how many fans with jerseys on were getting the names wrong. I can appreciate the fact they support hockey cause we need as many people as we can get, but I was just downright furious with the lack of respect to the game of hockey.

I am also appalled by the shear amount of Chicago fans there were. There were more hawks chants than Avs and it seemed like no one gave a shit. Also it seemed like people could care less if we lost. What has happened to this state? Im glad I found this blog or else I would be seriously concerned whether we still have diehard fans. Lets hope this team can bring back the spirit of the old day's and get this town full of Avs fans rather than a hybrid of Avs/team -we -are -playing every game.

Thanks for reading, sorry about the long rant, just a stress relief about tonight's game. Feel free to comment, bash me, rip on hossa, preferably bash on hawks fans... etc.
