Kings at Avalanche, Game 11 Preview

The Avalanche try to snap out of their home woes tonight as they welcome the Los Angeles Kings to the Pepsi Center. The Kings played last night in Phoenix, which means the Avalanche will be playing their 2nd straight game against an opponent playing back-to-back games. It also means the Kings will be playing their 2nd straight game against an O'Reilly brother.

The Kings are off to a great start this year, winning 5 of their last 6 going into the game last night. Jonathan Quick has been amazing; he recently recorded 3 shutouts in a row and has only given up more than 2 goals once. That should cure our offensive woes at home, right? The good news is that Drew Doughty is currently on IR. [EDIT: He played last night]. The bad news is, noted Avalanche-killer Brad Richardson is not. Oh bother.

The Avalanche have dropped 11 of their last 13 games to the Kings (can't WAIT to move to that Pacific division), but tonight will be a lucky game for the Avalanche, thanks to the pregame tilt between Mile High Hockey and The Avalanche Guild. All are invited to watch; check out the link for details and for discounted tickets for tonight's game. The MHH team will be wearing dark unis, so please come by and cheer them on. Oh, and go Avs!
