Brandon Yip

So the estimated return for Yip was late October/early November.  Anyone hear anything new about his condition?  Dater said he is skating, but that is about it.  Anyone think of giving him another chance or think he is just damaged goods at this point?  Do we see the Yip of 2 years ago, or the one of last year?

Why does a broken forearm mean he is damaged goods? Broken forearms don’t make or break careers?

Yip will get in the line-up, Lindstrom will spend time in the press box. I predict Yip rolls right out of the gate and has Haynes screaming obnoxious Yipppies and Yip Yip Yips.

Or Kobasew. Hard to tell at this point.

i think by damaged goods he means that everyone knows he kinda sucks.

by thedoctor on Nov 2, 2011 4:47 PM MDT up reply actions

Don’t take Lindstrom away, replace Kobasew. Duchene has been complaining about changing wingers, and he and Lindy finally have some chemistry and I just feel like Lindy has top 6 potential, just give him some time to gel with the team. I’d say scratch mcleod, I have tried to like his play and he does great things, but then ends them with a bone headed penalty or a bad play that negates all the good play he just had in that shift.

Where has Duchene complained about his winger? Also, I have not seen chemistry with Lindstrum and Duchene. I really haven’t seen it.

by avalanchejef on Nov 2, 2011 6:14 PM MDT up reply actions

No, but Lindstrom has shown ability, Duchene simply hasn’t been able to find his game, although that may be changing.

Give Lindy some time, he’s adjusting to new line mates and a new rink. He has played in NA before, but i can imagine there is still a little adjusting going on. When they interviewed him, I was surprised at how well he spoke English.

I believe it was in the story about him apologizing to Sacco about his play. It wasn’t so much complaining as just stating that he’s never really had a stable line.

Lindstrom is no slouch. He may be another European-Av gone goodbye, but right now let things marinate

I’ve never seen any chemistry between Lindstrom and Duchene.

I think Selanne had more chemistry with Granato.

Lindstrom set up Dutchy nicely last night (not that Duchene did anything with it)

Forever grateful that Joe Sakic isn't a raging dick hole like Brett Favre.

Yeah, while I do not want to hear Haynes jokes about his last name, I hope he has a rolling start

Late last week I heard it should be about 2 weeks until he’s ready.

Would he have to clear waivers if we sent him down to get some conditioning?

Thanks, Joe... Thanks, Peter.... Thanks, Adam....

Might be good for Yip’s confidence and for LEM’s offense. Or not.

Yip was well on his way to being a dominating first line power forward before he got hurt. He’ll have a hard time cracking our top two lines, with the abundance of talent that we already have up front, but he may be a needed addition. My guess is that he will come back, crack our lineup, and end up with around 40 goals this season.
