Torres Fined, No Suspension for Hit on Hejda
As MHH Member Bill Stone first brought to our attention, Phoenix fan-favorite Raffi Torres was fined the CBA maximum of $2,500 for his hit to the head of Colorado defenseman Jan Hejda in Thursday night's game in Denver. Unlike the videos that are published regarding suspensions, there hasn't been any supplemental comments regarding the hit or the non-suspension coming from new sheriff Brendan Shanahan. If you guys find anything else, let me know.
I personally find the non-suspension odd considering he was already scrutinized for his questionable hit on Boston's Andrew Ference in the SAME WEEK, but whatever. This poll is likely a waste of time as I figure I know what most of the MHH rabble will say, but whatever...

This max fine is a joke… who came up with this?
Even a guy earning the bare min 500k can pay this fine without care let alone a guy who’s making 5, 6, 7 or 10 million a year, what the hell is 2500 for these guys?
Paul Stastny did, what Paul Stastny does. Score big goals.
Pretty much as expected.
Didn’t feel the hit itself was worthy of a suspension. Wish the fine was more of a deterrent.
A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day.

Dirty Torres had another nasty hit Saturday in Minnesota on Prosser. He’ll be in Shanahan’s office for a hearing. Three questionable hits in one week—straight goon tactics. If care any for the game, you gotta move this turd out of the league.
