Around SBN: Roy Nelson Willing to Pay for His Next Opponent's Drug Test

Thank You Ryan O’Reilly

As some of you may or may not have read, I wrote a pretty nasty article that pretty much stopped short of punching an Arby’s sandwich a week or so ago when the Avalanche lost a terrible, uninspired game against the Minnesota Wild. I deservingly received the ire of a few Avs fans who disagreed with my diatribe; especially after I said that I may not cheer for the Colorado Avalanche in the future if they don’t start spending money. I am here to say that I regret a lot of what I said in that story, mainly because I was running off of pure unadulterated anger when writing it. The truth is that no matter how much I want to turn away at times, I just can’t… I love this team too much.

Star-divide

But on to what I was going to say in the first place… Thank you Ryan O’Reilly. Thank you for winning games with hard work and passion. Thank you for playing with heart and with a purpose. When Adrian Dater first said sometime last year that he believed that you would be a good candidate for captain in the near future I didn’t agree simply looking at the stats sheet; but now I am almost certain that not only will you be the future captain of this franchise but you have the potential to be a star in this league.

Most of all… THANK YOU FOR SENDING THE RED WINGS FANS HOME CRYING LAST NIGHT; THEIR TEARS WERE AS SWEET AS WINE ON A SUMMERS DAY! I almost wish someone at the door at Pepsi Center could gather all the tears into thousands of vials and pour it into a fountain outside of the Altitude Store. How beautiful a fountain that runs off of the tears of Red Wings fans would be.

GO AVS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Indeed.

Ahh, and what music to my ears such a fountain would produce. Its good to see you’ve embraced the ‘sunnyside’ of Avalanche hockey. It can be tough at times like these to be an appreciative fan, but the fact remains that Avs fans bleed burgundy and blue and it feels GOOD to be winning at home again. Did I mention we beat the fucking Red Wings?

Ryan O’Reilly is indeed ‘The Factor’ on this team.. and Varlamov is certainly making a positive impact of late too.

Next time I play Beatles Rock Band I’m definitely going to try and pull this off.

Can I flag it just because I don’t care for the Beatles?

Datsyuk may have done it first, but he learned it from Peter Forsberg.

Thanks for everything Foppa!

I wouldn’t want a fountain of redwing fans tears because then there would always be a redwing presence in the Can. Let them cry in the streets where they belong.

We could gather their tears as you said and use them to ice the arena. Maybe the team will keep playing well at home… Just a weird, borderline creepy suggestion.

Nope… I think I was right. You ever spell out an easy word and it just never looks right? Victimized…

I was taught to think “We are weird” whenever I was trying to spell it. It helps me, and my spelling generally sucks.

We could light the fountain on fire periodically if that would help.
