The best off-season FA singing? Give you a hint: He's only played 7 games.

If I were to be so bold that I made Star Wars comparisons to each of our players, I may use Matt Duchene as our Luke Skywalker, Radar would certainly be Han Solo and Paul Stastny would be the feminine, but dependable Princess Leah. Obi Wan is easy--Hejduk. What about Yoda? Who has that calming persona that exemplifies wisdom and consistency? JS Giguere. The man may not have to play in every game, but when he has played, he has been great between the pipes. What catches my eye more is that he always knows the right thing to say when the team has been struggling. Certainly, the signing of the Cup winning veteran proved to be a better investment than Lindstrom and Kobasew has played a lot of games but fails to turn heads. Giguere has been not only a VERY capable backup, but a great rock for Varlamov, too. His experience and attitude in the locker room, from what I can tell from interviews and articles, has been the only thing keeping us from another total collapse (Also improved play in our own zone and a breakout year from Ryan O'Reilly). Just saying. This veteran plays one of the most important roles for the Avalanche, and be already be acting more like a captain for Joe Sacco and Company than anyone else in that locker room. Best off-season signing by Sherman, perhaps ever.
