"There was no break for me, I’ve been skating every day and working out," said Forsberg. "Today was a good practice. A decision will be in the near future, so I’ll just keep on skating here for the next couple days and make a decision really quick."

Chop chop, Forsberg
I have tickets for tomorrow night.
"I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin', and hook up with them later." -- M.H.
Can we read into Peter’s words that if he feels ready that the Avs have promised a spot in the line up? Seems to me that some sort of hand shake deal must have already occurred just to get to this point.
"We find a way to win every single game almost. It's the sign of a great team. ... Good teams find a way to win on the road and win close games." - Foppa
No surprise, Dater is excited and hysterical like a school girl when anything Foppa-related happens.

Because Foppa at 50% is still better than 95% of the NHL.
Exactly my thought as Dater tweeted practice

Not to be a Dater Downer…but I took his words as “I suffered a setback so I’m pretty sure I’m not coming back and I’ll make an announcement soon.”
Dater is reactionary, especially when it comes to Forsberg. I think we all are, really. In the video of the min-press conference where he said that quote, he also said that he’s only had 3 full practices with an NHL team and that it had been 9 months since the last time that happened. That was also the first practice where they did full rink 5 on 5. All the practices before then were only zone scrimmages.
It’s going to take him a bit to just get back into game shape. Think of guys who go out with injuries and how long it takes them to get back up to speed. And that’s having played NHL level prior to the injury, and usually being younger. I’m not at all disappointed – nor any more encouraged – by all this. I’m still optimistic. I think that comment had more to do with not yet being ready to match the speed of the team, not that he wouldn’t ever be able to.

mini-press conference. /fixed
Also, don’t forget he was out there for 30-40 minutes before the rest of the team and then joined in for the hour-long intense team practice. That’s a lot of skating for anyone.

couldnt agree more. nor did i see the "negativity or discouragement’ Dater talked about, i thought Foppa’s tone and attitude were the same as every other interview since this all started

The words sound negative, but the body language and expression seemed pretty positive to me.
Hunwick- Twice as good as Holos when seen through the (extremely) narrow lens of takeways!

I am guessing he’s playing how he wants to be playing, but is waiting to see if the foot hurts after these practices before he decides.
Each of my replies is a work of art, each more brilliant than the last.

watching the video of him at practice today, ive noticed that he’s back to wearing X:60s on both feet and when he first started skating he had a 60 on one foot and a XXXX on the other troublesome foot. this couldve been a cause of his problems today
wow, good eye.

I love how all the hockey sites out there are jumping on the “it doesn’t look positive” part of all of that.

I really only have one thing to say about this.
Despicable.
"In my experience, there's no such thing as luck" -Obi Wan Kenobi
Aw c’mon Foppa, nobody is expecting you to be what you used to be! Have you seen the battered mess that our team is as of late? Even if you end up being a mediocre player (is it possible?) we would still benefit from having you on the team! JUST GIVE US THE REST OF THIS SEASONNNNN!
Anyway, I want to see him come back mostly so people don’t get to say “I told you so” and gloat about this.
Not sure if anyone has seen this link
To Dave Krieger’s story from the DP.

Some good stuff in there that makes me smile. If you don’t want to read the whole article, then selected bits are below:
The moments of anger when he skates into the defense rather than around it, just to deliver a blow. The moments of brilliance when he draws defenders to him until he’s trapped, then sneaks the puck to a wide-open linemate. The stretches of single-mindedness when he racks up points like a pinball player.
“I think the biggest thing is just his poise,” said veteran defenseman Adam Foote, Forsberg’s longtime teammate during the Avs’ golden olden days. “His confidence is going to rub off on guys. It’s going to be contagious.”
and my personal favourite:
In the bowels of the arena, the old Foppa stories were already circulating. There he is in the corner battling two defensive behemoths when a teammate skates over to help. “What are you doing here?” Forsberg asks in the midst of the skirmish. “I got this.”
If anyone doesn’t swoon at the above, well frankly, you must have a cold, dead heart.
