James Neal?

I've read several rumors about the Stars and Penguins talking a Alex Goligoski for James Neal deal and it got me thinking that the Avs would be smart to inquire about Neal, as he would be a decent replacement for Stewart. Wondering what all of you would think about a Liles + Yip for Neal and a 1st round pick. I'm sure there would have to be some tinkering to make the trade work, as I don't think the Stars would want to include their 1st round pick, but an intriguing trade nonetheless.

because Liles is probably too expensive for their budget

Highway robbery by the Pens. If that’s all it took to get Neal, we definitely should have been talking to Dallas.

If Dallas wanted D, we had nothing to offer. Less you’d trade Liles for Neal straight up.

the problem was that Liles had too high of a salary. If they still had Shatty… this deal would be done.

Getting Johnson was a better deal though. So it worked out.
