The NHL trade deadline is only 22 days away, and with the Avs (somehow) only 4 points out of playoff position the question is, what will the Avs do come February 28th?  I am not a GM, my opinions are worth nothing here, but I'm curious to see what people think, who is expendable? and who we should target? So, here we go:

Seems to me that the Avs most tradable players are:

Yip, Jones Galiardi, Porter, Hunwick, Cumiskey, Wilson and Budaj.

I would personally hate to see Galiardi go, but he's fallen out of favor with Sacco lately, and could have high value as a 3rd line checker/scorer on a contender.  Hunwick and Cumiskey, while tradable arent going to bring much in return, maybe each could get a 3rd to 5th round pick or middling prospect at best, but clearing them out of our system could open the door for Holøs or the addition of another d-man at the deadline.  Last, I think Budaj could show some value to a contender with a weak backup goalie say... Philly? Though i think his leaving is unlikely.

Now the targets. With enormous depth of injured top 6 players, i would be surprised if the Avs targeted another winger.  A healthy start next year would leave Stewart, Duke, Mueller, Flash, Jones and maybe even Forsberg vying for two winger spots (not a lot of room for Hishon to break through either). So d-men seem to be the likely targets.

According to CapGeek: NJ, Detroit, Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, and Pittsnburgh have no cap space, with Boston, SJ, Chic, Ottawa and Minny close behind.

The most likely targets there seem like Staios, Regehr, Stuart, Seabrook, and Phillips.

I'd only really be interested in Seabrook (though we'd have to overpay to get him and overpay to keep him) and Stuart. So it seems like options are limited (Brewer is possible as well, though STL wont be as desperate as those others)

So MHH, what are your thoughts? Who would you want, what would you trade? What can we realistically expect?
