Just to wallow in the Avs hugely successful tanking campaign - I figured I would go back and look at the MHH community's wide-eyed optimism concerning the Predict and Win Contest set up earlier this season. I know that generally people wait until the end of the season before checking this - but why not cheer for the Avs to tank and attempt to win something at the same time...

The Overall Title & Guessing Budaj's start total

The Avs currently have 60 points in 68 games. This means the maximum amount of points the Avs can get is 88. Out of the 77 people who made guesses - these are the remaining contenders for the wonderful prize:

• Smoky201& Dan Winkler: 83 (11-3-1 record required to reach 83 points)
• Don Balls & Dixomatic: 84 (12-2-0)
• SlamDunkTheFunk: 86 (13-1-0)
• Shikemania: 87 (13-0-1)

I think a reasonable prediction at this point is that no one will win - although if we go to the tiebreaker with both Smoky and Dan - Dan gets the win by guessing closer on Budaj's start total (with a guess of 22).

Dixomatic's guess of 38 starts for Budaj could be the best guess which was followed by a very accurate statement:

Red Wing Dave also believed in Budaj and is in the hunt - guessing Budaj would have 33 starts.
