Craig Anderson Signs 4-Year Extension

Stay connected for news and updates

There's one less goalie for us to choose from on the free agent market this summer. Craig Anderson has signed a 4-year, $12.75 million extension with the Ottawa Senators. Cap hit is $3.19 million per season. Anderson reportedly rejected a 2-year, $7.5 million deal with the Avalanche earlier this year.

[Update:] Anderson's quote today is causing a little controversy for coming off like a slam at the Avalanche. I don't quite see it as that big of a slam. Seems more like hockey-speak to me, with maybe a little tint of angst.

"For me, it's not about the money," Anderson said. "It's about having a good fit and finding a place where I'm going to be happy, where players are treated with respect and the organization communicates with their players. It just a good feeling that makes you smile and makes you want to come to the rink. You can't put a price tag on that."
