Hunwick being classy

Ok,

So this is really about Matt's little brother Shawn.

He plays Goalie for Michigan. I was listening to NHL Radio on my very early drive to work this morning and heard a name that got my attention. They were talking about this really classy thing that Hunwick did.

It didn't take me long to realize that they were talking about Matt's little brother Shawn. It appears that last year, when he was a junior, he won the starting goalie job from their other goalie Hogan after Hogan suffered a groin injury.

Last Saturday, after playing this whole season as the starter and taking his team to the championships, he was pitching a shutout in the final game of the tournament. With 7 minutes left, he went to the bench and asked the coach to put Hogan in. He says it was because he didn't want this other great goalie's college career to end on the memory of a championship game that he didn't get to play in.

This made me smile and I thought I would share =)

I had trouble finding an actual story to confirm this, but here is a link to a fan board post about it. Enjoy!

Here is the box score for the game. It's the best I could find while I'm supposed to be training an new dispatcher. ;)

And his player bio.
