I just pray Sherman doesn’t have this mindset that “we don’t want to lose these RFA’s for nothing so we’ll sign them anyways…”
Hopefully he doesn’t make a Budaj sympathy signing. “He won’t get a job anywhere else, so I may as well”

I will never understand the Budaj hate. He’s the perfect back up goaltender. But whatever.

I don’t think it’s “hate.” For me it’s the leeway that Budaj gets from fans that makes me nuts. He is an average goaltender at best…but he gets defended and praised more than any “average” player in the history of the Avs for some reason.
I mean yes, he is a nice guy and that’s great, but sometimes the “nice guy” defense blinds people from the fact that he really just isn’t anymore than a decent back-up goalie.
Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?
You never did believe in Budaj

he’s a fine backup i agree, but I still don’t understand why we pay him so much. comparable backups do not make 1.2m.

I like him as a backup, just not as a starter

Would you rather have Elliott as the starter? Backup?

I’m talking about for next year. I don’t mind having budaj as a starter now, but next year I would rather have a new starter. Either Elliot or budaj will be back as the backup

Hopefully O’Bryne’s most triumphant return doesn’t prevent us from losing the game

I think we’ll be fine. Absolute worst case scenario is that we end up with a point in OT because we aren’t playing the Blues. Haven’t you seen the chart?

If the game is tied going into the final 5 minutes…shouldn’t we pulling the goalie? Or at least put in Elliott?
Is there really much of a difference between the two at this point?

It’s the fucking “wild”. The tank gets suspended for the fucking “wild”.
This is a must win.

Am I missing something?
Since Stoa is going to be out a while, and was the only Avs forward listed as a scratch the last game, should we not be hearing about a forward being called up? Did I miss it?
I’d love to see Mauldin’s energy again, although I’m not sure that would help the tank. Also, since Stoa was pretty much the only “big body” the Avs had up front, what about a look at Zach Cohen, who’s listed as 6’3" 208.
For some of us, Murphy's Law isn't so much a law, as it is a way of life!
I realize we’re tanking, but I was hoping to avoid the 7 d-man thing, or even moving one up to forward. If we’re going to suck it up the rest of the way we might as well get a look at a couple of the kids.

Calling Zach up would be kosher.

I wonder if he’d be allowed to play in the same game as Johnson.

I doubt you’ll see Zach Cohen – or any other Monster – coming up due to the playoff run in Erie. We’ve got Koci, which means there’s a full roster of forwards if no one is a healthy scratch. No reason to call anyone up from LEM. But who knows with this team.
