Peter Forsberg has found a new job.
Forsberg will scout players and work in marketing of the team, among other duties.
"It’s great that Peter would use his experience and his contacts to help MODO Hockey," Naslund, who played 15 NHL seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Vancouver Canucks and New York Rangers, said on the team’s website, modohockey.se. "We have a tough season behind us and the challenges ahead are great. It feels really good for me to have Peter on my team as we invest ahead."
A piece on John Grahame
With apologies to the guy in the Dos Equis commercials, John Grahame has a case as the most interesting goalie in the world.
There’s little question he’s had the most interesting career of any player in the American Hockey League — as a Calder Cup champion, Stanley Cup champion and American Olympian, along with getting a taste of hockey overseas in Russia’s Kontinental Hockey League.

TRIVIA:
Who coaches the Colorado Avalanche to their second Stanley Cup title in 2000-01?
The typo of “coaches” is the desk calendar’s. I kept it to rub my cheap desk calendar’s face in it.

Who then lost his locker-room in Colorado, was fired, then lost his locker-room even quicker in Atlanta? (Hint, it’s the same guy)
Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?
(who also happens to be the guy Kovalchuk said was the best coach he ever played for. Who’s also a guy who should probably get another chance in the NHL)
I love this about coaches, Hartley got fired from Atlanta for basically not being able to squeeze blood out of a turnip 2 years in a row, and was fired under the guise of “losing the locker room”. It had nothing to do with the fact that Don Waddell is a shittty, shitty GM and has been unable to get Atlanta enough talent to give his coach realistic expectations of making the playoffs.

Amen. Don Waddell is an incompetent moron.
Not that ’artley’s any saint, but the guy can coach.
How about those grades? Well, there's an A in alcohol, a B in beer. C is for Miss Carter, who we love so dear. D is for drunk, and there ain't no E, so F's for Forever Clear.
With the talent on that ’01 Cup team, just how much coaching was really necessary? Let Sakic and Forsberg organize the offense and Borque, Blake, and Foote set up the D and your on your way.
I kid, but damn, that was one loaded team.

I think that this is a large part of why he lost the room. He is a very good AHL coach, very good with getting performance out of guys that may not have much in them or in whom it may not yet be ripe. That being the case, as you point out, he was dealing the the Hockey Hall of Fame induction classes of 20__ and 20__ in that situation.
I’d not be averse to seeing him get a shot at a young and largely marginally talented team here in COL again, but doubt that PL’s caprice would allow that to happen (nor would Hartley’s contract in Switzerland).
2010-2011 Colorado Avalanche: Hugging the cap floor and waiting on their revenue share, because hey, billionaires need welfare too!
I thought he coached the Avs to their turd Cup.

He dubbed the Duke’s hands as ‘magical’.
Each of my replies is a work of art, each more brilliant than the last.
