After going down 2-0 in the series, the Attack tied the series at 2, ensuring a game 6 in the Sound. The Attack lost game 5, and went into game 6 - their final home game of 2010-2011 - down 3-2 in the series, and looking to force a game 7 on Sunday.
The Attack fell down 1-0 mid-first with a Majors powerplay goal. The Attack tied things up mid second with their own powerplay goal, and took a 2-1 lead off a goal by Hishon. Owen Sound made it a 2 goal game on a mid-third period goal. With about 2 minutes left, the Majors pulled their goaltender, and were able to bring it within 1, but Owen Sound held on for a 3-2 win.
A quote from a fan at the arena (accuracy not gaurenteed):
Hishon is so smart with the puck. It's like when he gets it, everything just goes slow.
My thoughts on Hishon:
-Hishons goal was a nice one (and also the only 5-on-5 goal of the game). Mignardi took a shot from the point. Hishon, located in front of the net, got the rebound, and swept it around Anderson for the goal.
-He got an assist on the the Attack's first goal (powerplay goal). He got the second assist on the goal.
-He took an unneccesary cross checking penalty in the offensive zone (late first period). I didn't really think it really should've been called, but there was a cross check.
-He got his stick in the passing lane, and was able to intercept a few passes
-Hishon was on ice for the 6-on-5 goal the Majors scored.
-Finished with 1g, 1a, and 2 pim
-Goes into the final game of the playoffs tied for 2nd in points with 23, 1 behind Mignardi. (Kuhnhackl reached 23 points in 18 games. Hishon has played 21)
The Memorial Cup starts May 20th , and the schedule can be found here. As previously stated, once the Memorial Cup has finished, I will make a post summarizing my thoughts on Hishon after seeing him play in the Sound over a few games over the season.
