According to Angelique, the Avalanche have passed on signing goalie Brandon Maxwell by the June 1st deadline. Maxwell, who plays for the Kitchener Rangers, was a 6th round pick in the 2009 draft. (We still have Duchene, O'Reilly, Elliott and Barrie from that draft, so it's not a complete bust yet). Maxwell actually may be looking for a new junior team as well (with cringe-worthy mention of the "Aves" in the article).

She's also reporting that Denis Parshin has signed a 3-year extension with his KHL club, making it unlikely that we'll be seeing him stateside anytime soon (which is why I was going to trade his ass, but I digress).
